I think someone really good is going to be there at #4 and I think there may be good trade opportunities to move up or to move back. Lots of options. We beat the odds…again. Having #4 is better than 5 or 6. Folks should be happy. I don’t want to trade our pick; I want our front office to do their job and find the next star. There’s a star available at 4. Find him!
Sure, let's split hairs in a 2.5 player draft after three straight seasons of being the worst team in the NBA who owes their future to Oklahoma City.
Lol going up has been said for years. They’ve been going backwards since. This was absolutely one of the worst case scenarios of the draft lottery. Yeah Silas isn’t with the rockets and yet they ended up with as shitty of a pick as they could get. He’s probably laughing at the results
NBA lost all credibility when the Pelicans and Lakers both moved up like 5+ spots in the lottery when AD was to be traded the Bulls jumped up a ton of spots in the D-Rose draft Who are they trying to fool? and people really think there’s no shenanigans involved in the lottery process
You must be a new Rocket fan if you think the NBA will ever let us get the number 1 pick. Especially with someone so highly touted as Wemby in the draft.
Silver was like no way we can have Udoka the sex addict face showing with our guy Wemby. French player becoming a pornstar in Houston with Udoka leading the way.
I've had nearly 2 hours to digest this news and I'm still basically sick to my stomach. I didn't think we were going to get victor but now the reality of having basically a 25-50% chance at an aging Harden, some probably underwhelming trade of #4 for a second-tier star, or some 19 year old be the sole upside from this last 3 year of trainwreck is sinking in. I almost don't even want to watch basketball or read about the draft for a week.
I think that's minuit at this point because Brown is not going to pass on a max contract. But if I'm Charlotte and if I can draft a premier PG and have another high pick, plus I don't have to pay out a max extension....I would definitely consider that option.
I'm still hopeful of course, but I don't believe being as bad as the Rockets have been for the past three years (AKA tanking multiple years in a row) leads to future success. By keeping Silas around and not putting more of an emphasis on winning you just hindered the development of the other players on the roster so they can add...Amen Thompson? Rockets better hope that there's a willing trade partner because Amen Thompson isn't the guy you tank for.
Wonder if Charlotte would be willing to trade LaMelo. #4 pick and other pieces not names Sengun, Tari, Bari and Green. Charlotte get the #2 and #4 pick in the draft to do a hard reset on their team.
there is absolutely nothing to be excited about with this team... We dont even have our picks going forward. These are the scrubs we are rolling with
I can hear the disappointment through the screen. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...nba-draft-lottery-one-number-off-18103452.php “We have the fourth pick of the draft. It’s a really talented draft. I’m happy,” Stone said. “I think we’re going to add another talented guy. We feel really good about the direction our franchise is headed in with our young core and our ability to add in free agency. This is additive. I would say it’s kind of icing on the cake. It’s kind of been our approach, really for the last year, (that) we need to transition out of that phase. “One is better than four. We can all do math. But I’m excited we’re going to get an opportunity to get a really quality player.” “We’re going to get a great young player,” said Udoka, who showed no emotion on the lottery stage. “We’re excited to add to our core. It was exciting. It’s a great opportunity. We can add to the draft, but we also have to develop the guys that we have. We look forward to adding a good piece to what we already have. “Obviously, everyone gets enamored with No. 1 or possibly two and three guys, but there’s tons of quality players. It’s a pretty top-heavy draft.” “We have been looking at this draft for like three years,” Stone said. “This is a really good draft. I’m very confident there are uber talented players that will be available at four. “There’s more than one or two guys who are special. The talent at the top of this draft is pretty rare.”
