KPJ my favorite but he’s be a great fit for Hornets or Portland Imagine Dame or LaMelo having KPJ + 4th pick next to them Tuff decisions

I'm trying to stay positive. Need to convert this #4 pick into shooters. Rockets get: Our young franchise PG Tyrese Maxey Tobias Harris (1yr/$39 mil expiring) 76ers get: 3rd star to pair w/ Joel & James + Depth Bradley Beal Kenyon Martin Jr Jaesean Tate 2024 Rockets 2nd round pick 2024 Nets 2nd round pick Wizards get: #4 overall pick + 2 extra 1sts + prospects Rockets 2023 #4 overall pick Clippers 2023 1st round pick 76ers 2024 1st round pick Danuel House (expiring) Josh Christopher Usman Garuba New Rockets Depth Chart T.Maxey(32 mins)/KPJ(16 mins) Jalen(32 mins)/KPJ(16 mins) T.Harris(32 mins)/Tari(16 mins) Jabari(32 mins)/Tari(16 mins) Sengun(32 mins)/Free Agent(16 mins) Maxey shoots 43% from 3. Harris shoots 39% from 3.
He's shown more on offense than Green. It's harder to find a center with his vision than a guard who can score. I get it, they were 10th in paint defense...
even then, would it be worth tanking for 3 years to build a team of 3 27-28 year olds and have a 4-ish year window of maybe making the second round before we have to do it all again? I'd say no. I'm just imagining the end game here if it all works out perfectly. jaylen brown, KAT, Lavine, ayton, OG, harden... two or three of those types of guys would be a good playoff team but we're not going to win anything. 1 by himself and we're a play in team. I'd rather watch these kids grow for another couple of years. do a consolidation trade or two, but keep jalen, jabari, and #4 off the table for the time being.
we've got enough young talent, enough upside, so drafting more players, who you have to sign, based on upside should be over. package #20 and #4 (and whatever else depending on player) for kristaps, siakim, trae, ja, dame, etc... the price can change depending on the player but that should be the plan along within recruiting some very good depth/proven role players.

What I want is to stagger the ages of your talent so the next man up comes along to replace the older guy. I'm not opposed to the long game but the risk is mitigated by moving unknowns for proven players. My rule of thumb, I'm not trading Sengun, Jabari, or Green for anyone older than 28. If we're moving bench assets like Martin, Christopher, or Eason for veteran talent I would consider it for the right player.
A deep draft only means that a lot of players are equally talented. In a bad draft most players are equally bad. So it would not be easier to figure out who stuck out.
I think back to what could have been... James Harden Russell Westbrook PJ Tucker Robert Covington Christian Wood Eric Gordon Man, we could have almost made the play in game...
Yeah, if Jalen doesn't improve then we're having to replace him. Maybe KPJ after adding a PG? I think we all expect Jabari to be no worse than a prime Robert Covington piece which you can win with. If Sengun can get to Sabonis level it might be fine...
