This might make some sense... Miller and Scoot are clear 2nd and 3rd in either order. If Charlotte, having Ball, takes Miller... suddenly best player available isn't someone they want to take. A package of Martin, Tate and 20 might be enough for Portland to swap back to 4 and take best player available. Then we still get Scoot...
Correct. And Scoot is younger at this point and fewer bad habits. He's also not Green on defense as far as we can tell.
Trading Green for a prospect that's about the same level as him seems like a step back. I like Scoot too but if they were in the same draft I'm really not sure who would go first. I think Green would be in the same 2nd tier bracket behind Wemby, yall forget how hyped Green was coming into the NBA. He's been one of the better 2 guard prospects to come out in a while. I don't think Scoot as a prospect is that much better than he is, they both coming in with some flaws. He's also 21 and still could get a lot better.
yeah or Portland could decide to take scoot and pair him with sharpe and trade Dame . I love Tate , but I would probably pay that price to move up one spot . I’m not sure what to think of scoot . It’s very unlikely that’s he’s ever a top guy on a championship team . As good as cp3 , morant etc are … it usually someone at least 6’6” or so being the best player on the champion . I’m equally happy with miller , Thompson , scoot , even a different guy too .

The G league has not produced a single super star yet, many of us were fooled by Jalen's perceived skills. Fool me once... This may be a way for guys to get drafted a lot higher than they may be should be.
Another possibility is moving Green for #5 to Detroit and taking the twins back to back playing them at 2/3. Then waste the cap space on a solid everyday PG and take picks for contract dumps. KPJ moves to 6th man. Probably the long route as you're not adding much experience.
