I wonder if there is a chance McCullers returns for the last Cubs game?

Getting a signal from the dugout where the catcher is setting up? Not illegal… seems like it would be more of a distraction.

Catchers can probably just stop setting up very early against him.

    Was about to post this

Seems more than just catcher setup. Otherwise it would've been mentioned previously in the 30+ years of baseball I've watched. ESPN and other outlets must be oblivious too because they made note of it

How terrible are the Oakland A's? When the Astros were awful from 2011-2013, they won only 33.3% of their games and had a -630 run differential (-210 average).

The A's are winning 20.9% of their games (on pace for 128 losses), and have a -160 run differential. That is a pace of -603 for the season. Almost as much as we had 3 seasons combined of being an embarrassment to baseball.

Why is there no reverse angle showing what is happening in the NYY dugout at that time? I have a really hard time believing there wasn't a single camera trained that direction.

I must’ve missed something, was Sonny Gray this decent last few seasons?

He hasn't given up a single HR, that isn't sustainable. Even extreme GB pitchers will occasionally give up a few long balls.

Wow… im curious what the actual odds are of that happening. “He hit it with a curveball” made me chuckle and i know it shouldn’t have.

It's a sign of how times have changed. Back when it happened to Randy Johnson, I think we all felt perfectly fine laughing our asses off at that bird's life being snuffed out in the most bizarre way possible. Today, it's important we acknowledge that the bird's life is important and that we love animals but that it is still interesting and noteworthy.

I do not believe we have degenerated that far.

Once again, the Yankees get caught cheating and are permitted to get away with it.

Go wash your hands is the only result of foreign sticky substances when they do it.

Of course that is no surprise since they always receive warnings rather than consequences because what is good for the Yankees is good for the MLB.

Either I'm getting stories confused or there is a rash of sticky substance use.
