How would @FranchiseBlade respond to this Egyptian? to steal their history is wrong / I stand with the Egyptian's views on this -

it is wrong to say hey there is one Egyptian Prime Minister in the past that had a east African father so he was half black and by that logic it's entirely possible however unlikely,..No just stop .. let's get real and let's realize what the likelihood really is -

this is a slap in the face to Egyptian's - because you're effectively stealing their history and altering it. This is from their own mouths not mine, It's not about white people ...it's about how you're portraying the characterization of a civilization and a history of people that is profound

 

I would respond by saying to focus on the color of a character in a movie is a very surface level concern that doesn't have any effect in either the entertainment or historical relevance of the character portrayed.

The history isn't stolen, unless you beleive the rich history of Egypt is based on pigment.

 

Why are you presuming to say how another culture should/shouldn’t feel about it’s roots?

First off that is ridiculous comparison regarding what I addressed. MLK spent a lifetime combating those who discriminated against him, precisely because of pigment.

Part of that battle included the scenario of the bigoted historically oppressive practice of blackface.

That isn't the case for Egypt and it's history.

Surely you aren't foolish enough to believe one outliers statement represents the whole of the modern Egyptian culture.

There is like almost zero people interested in this. Peter Pan is apparently depicted with no inspiration, saddened, zero charisma, zero fun and zero boyhood charm that the original did so what do they expect never mind anything else and that’s just the beginning ..Tinker Bell and Wendy all done in lackadaisical and haphazard construction arcs and buildup mainly for gender and or race requirements I suppose and completely pales in comparison to the original…

I haven’t seen the movie but even just these few minutes of screenshots and “highlights” causes me to realize the criticism is valid
- They do absolutely nothing to the story but make you fall asleep…I’m noticing a pattern over the last 10 years with these type of Disney “remake” movies…They just can’t seem to do them well but they seem awfully quick to blame for the audience…
