Oh the amount of btching on this site is gonna b insane if harden comes back. I will welcome the harden only fans and anti harden back into the game threads.
I mean this team in its current state is never going to get an opportunity in those big moments without finding someone to help be the bridge to get there. Folks keep citing playoffs while this team can barely win 20 games in 3 straight years while not controlling their draft for the foreseeable future. Quite a predicament this championship or bust mentality folks try to apply to these rockets doesn’t apply. It never did.
I dont know what it is that makes James do this in the playoffs. It's almost unfathomable. Do not bring him back.
Harden didn't do great, there's no doubt. At the same time, the rest of his team including the league's MVP did what exactly? You don't score under 90 twice in a row without the rest of your team ALSO ******** said bed.
The Houston Rockets really need to say no to James Harden https://www.gallerysports.com/the-houston-rockets-really-need-to-say-no-to-james-harden/
Instant observations: Embiid and Harden complete choke job in Game 7 loss to Celtics https://www.phillyvoice.com/instant...s-game-7-joel-embiid-james-harden-doc-rivers/
Personally, I wouldn't sign Harden. My reasoning is that the new CBA is going to make it difficult to have more than two max guys. I'd hate to tie up $45m or more (I'm assuming that he's not taking a major discount) on an aging player who won't be part of the team's future. I'd prefer to keep that max spot open in case an opportunity came up where we could possibly get two stars. Of course, that's just my preference. Rockets management may have a different idea. Harden definitely would make the team better immediately. Not sure how much our young guys would learn and improve from playing with him though. He can get them easy opportunities (which is something we rarely get) but once he's gone, I'm not sure it carries over. Not that many people in history can create open shots like Harden so learning to play with Harden may not benefit us once he's gone. I will say that one way or another, we need to acquire a PG who can run a team. Currently, we end up taking way too many difficult shots. We need somebody that get us some easy shots. We need to take advantage of some of the more efficient plays rather than having to hit tough shots all the time. Things like corner threes ( we were last in the league in creating corner 3s and last in the league in makes), points in transition ( with our young legs and athleticism, we should be running teams into the ground) and easy passes to players near the basket or cutting to the basket. We don't get many assists passing the ball towards the rim. The bulk of our assists are passes out above the arc. Sengun does get some assists to players going to the rim, but like almost all of his assists, they come with hm in the paint. That's fine at times, but it clogs the middle if you do it too much. Likewise, we primarily generate corner 3's from the paint. If you look at guys like Harden and Haliburton, they generate 3 pointers from all over the floor (6 or 7 different zones). If we get some easy shots then I think that our offense would be much more efficient.
People mentioning embiid this, Maxey that, Tucker this. Who gives a $%^@? We not signing NONE of those guys to a Max contract. We talking about That fraud Harden. Stop it.
If nothing else this makes me wonder how our young players will perform in the playoffs when they eventually get there. Will they be Luther Head, James Harden or ummm ... Jeff Green?
Nah Fertitta LOVES STARS, he'll do anything to put butts in the seats man. Even resigning this loser...
76ers Rumors: 'Whispers' MVP Joel Embiid Could Want Out If James Harden Joins Rockets https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-could-want-out-if-james-harden-joins-rockets
There are many paths to becoming a winning team that don’t involve resigning James Harden. And none the things that made our team such a loser - terrible defense, poor ball movement, poor shot selection and turnovers - are things for which Harden has ever shown a propensity. What exactly does anyone see him doing to teach winning to the players other than to become spectators to his iso-ball style of play?
I know it’s hard to keep up, but you liked this post I made not too long ago: I already said what you said and you liked it. In the post you recently quoted I was just responding to that one part about him playing iso ball. Regarding James coming back, I’m still iffy on it. It’d definitely have to be for the right price and with an understanding of the role he would play. I don’t think we need James to progress as a team. But he still generated a lot of open looks for Philly. Still one of the best passers in the game. He still has some value, especially on a team severely lacking what his best attributes are. Again, I’m not saying we HAVE to sign him. In fact I lean more towards not bringing him back. But I’m not opposed to kicking the tires in it if a few things align right.
