There are 3 takes here: The forum Democratic homer @astros123 stated this is a fake. Obviously he finds this video off-putting and blindly calls it a fake. dobro1229 downplays the video by automatically comparing it to the worst possible alternative he could come up with, Donald Trump. This in itself is the key takeaway. The fact that we have been electing the worst representatives of this country that its hard to find someone worst than Donald Trump speaks for itself. Politics is a complete clown show and your clown, Kamala Harris, is making a complete fool of herself and you somehow feel the need to defend her by saying "at least she isn't Trump". They are ALL clowns. Stop defending them. We then have reality of the situation. Taking a 20 minute speech and snipping an out-of-context clip with zero context and then framing the person as a lunatic. This has been going on for decades from anything that represents itself as the media. This is the true problem and why we end up with Trump/Hillary/Biden/Kamala for 12 years straight.
I watch it only once. I understood what she said and it’s logical. Her delivery has always been a bit awkward. If this is supposed to be horrible, I don’t see it.
How am I a democratic Homer? I call AOC a cosplay socialists who's good for nothing? I call Obama a bad POTUS? How am I a democratic Homer ? You're on drugs seriously. I like debating with facts and policies. You can call that whatever
Feeling extra sanctimonious this morning are we?? The reality of the situation we have in America is we have too many people like you who only care about sh$t posting on the internet and “owning the Libs” to feel some sort of empowerment in their lives. Plainly put, politics is a sport. I’m the ONLY one who can ever be right and everyone else is wrong. I’ll need to respond even when I agree with a disagreeable statement to demean and attempt to diminish. You aren’t that smart. You don’t have some sort of secret answer to solving the worlds problems that nobody else knows. Get over yourself you pompous ass.
Here’s the reality with Kamala Harris: -She’s the vice president of the United States. -The VP’s role is to serve the administrations agenda and carry diplomatic tasks that are usually the lower stakes everyday tasks of the president -This administration is exception at being boring and God bless them for that (running the US shouldn’t be high drama) -Kamala is a bit goofy, has a cackle laugh, and sometimes comes off like she’s trying to perform as a stoic Obama/FDR like figure which isn’t natural for her because she’s naturally a more jovial and silly person which most people enjoy being around in their personal lives unless they are a dolt like SpaceGhost Criticize Kamala all you want for having a cackle or being silly. That’s fine. However just realize 98% of Americans really don’t given a sh*t and you just come off looking like an obsessed weirdo who is mad that a women sometimes allows herself to be a little goofy.
I think this is an empirically wrong statement. There is a fair amount of evidence that one of the reason Democrats are reluctant about Biden running again is Kamala Harris. So 98% to me seems high.
(maybe you can quantify that evidence with link or so) VP really don't matter but given his age, more likely it matter now than before. Then on the other hand, it's Trump. So probably back to the baseline of it's doesn't matter.
Ok. This was the claim you made: "fair amount of evidence that one of the reason Democrats are reluctant about Biden running again is Kamala Harris"
one example: Some Democrats are worried about Harris’s political prospects At a pivotal point in Biden’s term, many party activists are not sure the vice president has shown she is up to winning the top job https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/01/30/harris-democrats-worry/ I am fairly sure that the worries expressed by "party activists" is shared by mainstream Democratic voters
some polling with percentages: Californians not keen on Kamala Harris as president: Poll Just 37% of voters have enthusiasm for a Harris presidential bid, with a whopping 59% expressing hesitancy https://www.americanbazaaronline.co...en-on-kamala-harris-as-president-poll-452731/ also Even in California, Kamala Harris is seeing warning signs https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/kamala-harris-california-poll-warning-17803687.php
Will Kamala Harris be an asset or a liability for Democrats in 2024? https://thehill.com/opinion/campaig...n-asset-or-a-liability-for-democrats-in-2024/ excerpt: Indeed, the vice president is deeply unpopular: Only 37 percent of voters approve of Harris’s job performance, per a recent Monmouth University Poll, and her approval rating has dipped as low as 28 percent while in office. Harris’s favorability rating is also far lower than those of the four previous vice presidents at this point in their respective tenures, and she is viewed much more negatively than the president she serves under. more
I dont think its age per se but the perception of his cognitive ability. Biden does not give me confidence. Put Trump and BIden up in front of a crowd with out a script.
@Os Trigonum all 3 of those articles are about Harris as President, not as VP. In a way, you can intrepret that as Dems prefer for Biden to run again over Harris running for the top job.
Ok. I was hoping more for a poll that said, I'm not voting Biden in 2024 because of VP Harris. Maybe that question or something similar has not been asked. Someone should.
fair enough. I'll be on the lookout . . . that polling may not exist yet, but I'm sure as the election gets closer someone's gonna figure out how to ask that question
He's definitely slower, which is expected for his age. He's not the Biden that took Paul Ryan to the shed in 2012 (or whatever year that debate was). But even back then, he was already known as a gaffe machine. Anyhow, he seems to be both mentally and physically fine to me, just slower. I don't see any degradation to the point of an inability to be POTUS, but I do understand the concern given his age. And if he dies while serving his second term, it's not great, but it's okay. Harris isn't popular, but she's not someone without any experience (being in the WH itself for four years is itself good enough) or crazy or irresponsibiliy drunk (Lincoln's VP).
How come you only pick cherry picked polls? Latest yougov poll had her 45%. Quit being a hack. Nobody cares a vice president. The only reason why ppl care so much about kamala is she's a black women. Vice presidents don't do **** other than ceremonies and other bs
