he’s cursed and not reliable he needs an exorcism and a new team damn near every season he gets hurt in the playoffs
Chris Paul is 38 years old - so he is going to be an injury concern. He needs to be handled like Sloan handled John Stockton. Chris Paul should not play more than 25 minutes a night next season. Those will be an awesome 25 minutes, but it needs to be predictable that he comes out at that amount. He really should stay on the Suns, but I know that the Suns want to move him to use the money on younger players that are healthy and likely multiple players. The best fit would be the Sixers, Chris Paul would be an excellent fit and the Sixers can send back Harris and other useful assets.
Monty was playing him 40+ minutes. It was bound to happen. That finals year was their chance and they blew their 2-0 lead. Honestly, this is likely the end for the Phoenix Suns. They lack depth and they are going to rely on a 35 year KD next year to hopefully not get hurt. 2nd year in a row that Booker chokes in a close out game, so that doesn't help much either.
There's just no way CP isn't demanding a buyout from Houston, CP described the FO as stabbing him in the back. The owner's opinion of his contract being "worst in the league" was leaked from the media. That bridge is beyond burned Kyle Lowry should be the target for an old vet PG.
Perhaps some three or four team deal involving Lillard? Would love to get in on that and pry a young talent away from somebody for draft picks.
He's still a very useful player, but he's hardly available and that contract already looks HORRENDOUS. Regardless of how "aggressively" the Suns shop CP3 around, it'll be hard to find a trade they're going to be satisfied with, I think.
MAVS TRADE KYRIE IRVING to PHEONIX for CP3 + AYTON CP3 and Ayton's Playoffs this seasons means Pheonix will have to add more sweeteners or get a 3rd team involved Rocket River
Doubt any sweeteners will be needed, Chris Paul is on an essentially $15M expiring contract (if he gets bought out).
John Stockton has played in all 82 games 16 times in his career. Including the last 4 years of his career from age 37-41. Chris Paul has played in all 82 games once in his career. They are not the same when it comes to durability and injury concerns no matter who handles CP3.
If we get him and get him to agree to stay, I think it would be a positive for the Rockets from culture standpoint, younger players development standpoint, mentality enhancement standpoint. I'm probably in the minority in this
