Indeed he did That's the beauty of sports especially in the playoffs, play like a super inefficient chucker for 3/4ths of game, then in the last quarter outscore the opponent by yourself with a W and all else is forgotten and forgiven
Harden played in 2 of 6 playoff games good and after this 2 good games so many houston fans was hyped and said they wanna him back now they silent again?
U scared sengun won't b the best playmaker/player on the team anymore if Harden comes back or something? Harden at this stage of career is still head and shoulder a better player/playmaker than anyone currently on this team. Harden out of all people that can come is the one that can elevate senguns game the most
Harden had very questionable body language when there were times it was not going his way. Imagine KPJ and Harden on the same team and what Udoka has to deal with if shet hits the fan. You already had Wood and Harden on the same team.
Then u get rid of kpj? Folks acting harden is a bum who literally just didn't have a regular season average of 20+ pts and 10 assist with the number 3 seed. Harden is a boon to the youngsters development with his superior playmaking, the only realistic worry is if he can last his entire contract due to his age. Still would take the gamble, not everyday u can recruit a HoF talent that still has something to play for your team.
He is no bum but also not a guaranteed boon. For sure he can teach some tricks but I am not going to live in a perfect fantasy bubble as Harden fans do all the time. The truth is always somewhere in the middle. Also answer my question, is Udoka allowed to bench Harden when his play is not up to standard or he is off to Vegas? Because that would change any power dynamic on the team.
Guarantee boon is subjective. For me a successful partnership between Harden and the Rockets is he comes back and elevates his teammates and teach them to win with his playmaking. If they make it into playoffs and make noise, that's just extra. Folks signing harden and expecting him to carry us and what not is just delusional and setting the expectation way too high. I expect udoka to bench harden or anybody if he's not helping us win. Harden playmaking alone can keeps him in. Like maybe if harden is just throwing the ball and turning it over like nix, sure. I just don't see it happening. Call me a harden fanboi or what not, I just really think folks are so bias against him coming back to us bc of past relationship. A "choking" harden in playoffs has nothing to do with him making us a better team with his HoF playmaking skills.
Babysitting is not a real job, some do it during the holidays or during breaks. Same here in the NBA. He is getting paid really well for that of course but the motivation is not as strong as for example being in the EC Finals almost every year. Being around either MVP KD or MVP Embiid or another MVP. I would not even hold it against him if he regretted his decision and is determined to split again. It just feels weird because this group of young guys is very good but 3-4 years away. Hope I am wrong. (Everyone got this midlife crisis thing, when they thought it was a dream job but then came to an epiphany, what the hell am I doing here, I should be playing guys my own age or at least with experienced players.)
Who knows what goes in hardens mind. Maybe he's trying to redeem himself for the falling out he has with Houston. Maybe he's using us as leverage. With news of him potentially returning, like if he was sucking and just wanted money I will get people for being wary but man still has game. If Harden comes back I will welcome him back happily as one of the greatest rockets. I just find it weird for folks to b so resistant to the idea of a reunion. We heard for years that Harden game will age well now all of a sudden folks are wanting fvv over him, jeezus.
Look at Eric Gordon and his facial expression dealing with 19 year olds night in night out. I mean Harden is probably not the same guy and Silas is done but nothing changes. The Rockets are building around an uber young core and Harden is just a mentor but there is nothing other than a piece of contract that binds them. He can say : Fk it, I am off to Vegas, this bunch of kids, I am too old for this anyway. Easiest way out. The Rockets cannot even punish him because he is so rich it does not really matter to Harden. What are they going to do? Sue Harden? Useless IMO. I get that you think Harden has an obligation to the city and the people, he really does not. He has done something for this city already. I mean if by fulfilling the contract while partying is enough in his eyes. Or 1 or 2 Playoff appearances and off to Cancun.....
There are only 5 player right now better then Sengun in this league and Harden is not obe if them. Harden is maybe on top player list on rank 40. I like Sengun as player i dont care if harden comes back or not. Its funny people here or twitter always hype after one good game of harden and they act like he is prime mj and if harden plays bad what is 80% of the time they silent and dont post his nummers and so on just funny
Pffffft only 5 folks better than sengun? Davis, curry, luka, jokic, giannis, embiid, the list goes on and on. Harden only top 40? Really can't take u seriously. Got to stop showing your insecurity about senguns place on the team if Harden comes back. Your behavior quite similar to the kpj stans. U wish sengun can put up 40 pts in playoffs. Good game pffffft. Folks and their weird a$$ behavior to downplay a 40 pt game performance.
The comfiest way to achieve both playing basketball and living life to the fullest is probably on a team with a strong Alpha Superstar. He does not have to do much and can enjoy his riches and freedom. If he misses his family he can sign short term contracts and live in Houston for months. Or go assistant coaching for the University of Houston. Without any pressure from the media or any doubters. Or he could just go dating and use his time on that thing.
One downside of signing Harden y’all not considering is you gotta deal with Lin fans posting non-stop after every bad Harden game.
MATRIX RESURRECTIONS: JEREMY Giving me nightmares of all those Asian fans 25 and younger who jump all over you on the Internet when you would say something really horribly critical of Lin like, "Jeremy was a little off today."
Most people who are against signing Harden aren't saying that we won't be a better team with him. It's all about how much and how long you want to pay a declining star when you are rebuilding. If Harden was willing to sign a 2-year MLE level contract, only a handful of Harden haters would object. But nobody believes Harden will give a discount to the Rockets.
