Glad we got him locked up before the Bucks job opened up.

Bro did not want no 29 year old Giannis, 32 Jrue, or broken down Middleton

He wants them young bloods and that’s why we ain’t even trading for Brown

Ime knew Stone had the paint and canvas ready

Firing Bud was such a complete overreaction. He's been one of the best coaches in the league for years. Giannis was injured his brother died and Miami was on a mission. They are about to do the same to the Knicks. It just wasn't their year, it wasn't on Mike. I also love how the media is so shocked by this firing when they spent a week character assassinating the man lol

Or, he was looking for an NBA job after being abruptly fired for cause so much so that he flew to Houston of his own volition to ask for the job.

Read the Iko article from a few days ago, the idea that the Rockets somehow stole Udoka away from other suitors is pretty goofy.

    Tillman decided he wanted Udoka.

Udoka was desperate for a redemption tour.

The Rockets didn't ask too many questions about Boston situation, and here we are.

    Hope it works out.

Celtics booed off their own court today and people still think they haven’t missed a beat without Udoka? lol

Eh 29 year old Gainnis is still extremely special thing to have on your roster and more special than anything the Rockets currently have.

I do prefer the coach got locked up before the playoffs even finished; it's one less thing to worry about and the other lottery and mid teams can go on their bidding war for Nurse/Bud/Lue/etc.

Haven't watched much of that series because the 76ers have been doing alright without me rooting for them and cursing them.

But I managed to watch the final 10 minutes of the game and yeah, that's what was running through my head.

The more I read about him, the more I like the hire. He has the ability to transform this team and be their leader. The hope is that he won't have a similar off court issues like in Boston. Not only would it derail our rebuild, he could kiss goodbye to a coaching job in the NBA ever again. So hopefully he behaves.

He's shown he can coach, and can get egos in check for the better of the team. It's obvious that the Celtics aren't as good without him. Yes they had a better record in the RS, but We must remember how the C's took off last year at midseason. Their record to finish the season was 31-10, and that carried through the playoffs.

He has raw talent here, guys with great potential. By midseason I expect him to weed out the guys who won't make us better, and go to war with the rest.We will play tougher, more disciplined, and much more serious. I'm rooting for everyone, but I think guys like Tari and Jabari wi benefit the most from Udoka. Garuba would be a dark horse pick, as I think Ime will love his activity and quick thinking. Tate is also a guy I could see be one of his favourites, that is if We don't move him in the summer. Jalen and Sengun are the key though. Both with potential to be incredible offensive weapons, and the staple of our offense, but consistency and defense are going define their success.

I don't think KPJ will stick with the team through the season. IMO he's still not mature to handle the potential demotion and stricter rules both on and off the court. If Ime succeeds to harness KPJ's emotions and channel them correctly, then he will be even better than advertised and a true top tier NBA coach.

Udoka is getting some good publicity the past few days. You have to give Mazulla credit. With far less experience and at a much younger age, he is almost as good as Udoka already and every bit as good as Stevens. Boston got lucky, I think that guy in a couple of years will be an elite coach too.

Udoka has been great at coaching for a long time and GM's have known about him for a while. Special coaching talent.

Did you see the way the Celtics stumbled to the Finals last season despite putting up world historical numbers for the last 50 games?

If anything this year (vs Phi and Atl) is very reminiscent of going 7 and nearly blowing 2 playoff series to Miami and Milwaukee that shouldn't have been close, they should've been 4 or 5.

It's basically the same as last year.

Udoka was a mere role player, he is a good coach but not some magician.

Maybe mazulla, Udoka, stevens are great coaches

It's amazing how coaching the same core of all NBA players in their prime coincides with that.

Stevens was 500 his last year. 14th in Def rating. Mazzulla is a dead man walking. He's getting killed by the Boston media and fans. No adjustments. Hobbled Embid. Lack of defensive IQ and intensity. Reports that he has lost the locker room. I know some of you harbor a lot of hatred for Ime. But wow.

Stevens was . 500 his last year prior to his promotion but . 600 the 3 years before that, more or less the same as what Udoka/Mazulla got with - and i can't stress this enough - the same core players of Smart-Brown- Tatum

They can keep firing coaches if they want, but i can't think of a better example of how little difference coaching makes in results.

This isn't to say it doesn't matter at all. Getting rid of McFail and Dwight unlocked super Saiyan Harden. But, it's a marginal improvement, make or miss league and only 1 of 30 teams isn't mad at their coach at the end of the year
