Brown is not going to turn down that kind of money. It would be easy for Boston to get a new coach, make some strategic trades and win multiple championships. Hell, they may still win this year.

He would be giving up over $100M of salary to leave a team with the 2nd best record in the East to come over to the team tied for the 2nd worst record in the West.

It's over guys, he's not coming.

He was never a realistic option. Not even a FA. And people just randomly wanted to run with a dart throw bull Simmons threw out when he’s literally no insider. All someone had to do was use a little common sense to figure this out

I like JB (maybe more than CF) but $59M…ooh-wee

Remember when $14M was too much for Parsons? Or the poison pills for Asik/Lin. Or $20M for Ryno.

Blame the league getting more successful, the CBA requires them to share the wealth. Owners are rolling in dough too

He cannot win a Championship with that Coach….that coach is coming back. This team is not like last year, they are not playing Championship Defense and they are not playing together like last year. 100 millions? I wonder how much if he sign in Houston….with no income tax? The guy can be the MAN in Houston…he could make up 100 millions with no income tax and being a Star on your own team

Threads dead with him officially making all NBA. Even if he wants out of Boston he’ll now have about 100 million more reasons to stay there over going anywhere else.

yes, the good part about this is that we’ve plugged up one rabbit hole. In fact, given how close Boston is, let’s just agree they are not a natural trade partner. They are looking to add to get over the top, not break up their core, and we don’t have the players they need.

im much more intrigued by the trade possibilities with Toronto and Brooklyn. Those would seem to me to be the most realistic teams for a impactful trade since they are likely to opt for a rebuild.

Yesterday's price is not today's price.

Minnesota and Atlanta are two other teams to keep an eye on, although realistically I'm not excited about the prospect of trading for KAT or Trae, and I hope the front office is very cautious not to offer a whole lot for those guys. Maybe a veteran like Mike Conley and/or bringing back Capela instead of pursing those positions in free agency, depending on the price?

Trying to be realistic, though, I don't know if we make any super impactful trades this offseason. Depending on the point guard situation we may seek to get rid of KPJ just to avoid drama/get rid of a logjam, but that might not be for much return, could mostly be a salary dump, and it really depends on what happens in the draft and free agency.

I'd try to keep an eye to the future though, overall. Possible Giannis and/or Luka and/or somebody else becomes available in a year or a year and a half.

I do not see the Celtics paying this guy 63 millions a year….the Celtics do not respect this guy. He is always in trade rumors

Makes it much harder to trade for someone who is objectively better than any FA/RFA/Harden.
