I don't see that. Wemby is a "star" only in hype and media which doesn't actually mean he is one on the court just yet. I don't know if you are but I'm certainly not expecting Wemby to just walk on the court and dominate from day 1. There's going to be a huge adjustment period in so many areas as a skinny 19 year old kid. Harden is already a must sign for the kids the rockets already have to me and even so for Wemby who he will make life easier and help him along this adjustment period.
CP3 on that very same deal helped PHX tremendously if he hadn’t been traded, Harden and CP3 on that very same deal would have continued competing for championships Harden already had his 18-19 CP3 down year…that was last season it’s because of that down year that he started making changes to his game to adjust to his diminishing burst…the midrange game and being more willing to catch and shoot…he had 43% of his made threes assisted this year, the highest in a season by far since 15-16 pre-MDA (and he shot 42% on catch and shoot threes this year as well)…it’s no coincidence his 3 point percentage is at career high levels those 2 additions will help him tremendously as he ages Harden has won 2 games for Philly that more than make up for his performance in game 2 or 3. Harden has always had an atrocious playoff game here or there, that’s not anything new. And Harden looked like he didn’t want to touch the ball in the 4th quarter last night? We weren’t watching the same game. 1st, Philly was dominating game 5 in large part thanks to Harden’s masterful floor game, and 2nd, Maxey was cooking, so he let him cook. The 4th quarter was a foregone conclusion. Are u trying to make it seem like Harden was shook or gave up in the 4th quarter last night? needing 4 picks to unload CP3 was because Tilman is a dumbass…Lakers just used 1 top 4 protected pick to get rid of a complete bum in Russ and get several serviceable role players in return
Wemby isn't gong to be like Ralph coming in ( WE ARE NOT GETTNG THE 1ST or 2ND PICK ANYWAY), and kicking a$$....for sure. But, either way, it doesn't mean we need James in any way, shape, or form.
Once Brown started sticking close to James he was happy to just stand at the 3 point line and let people play around him. Maxey did great work and hit lots of big shots. Kudos. But the vibe for James was off, and it just gave me bad flashbacks. Even the most optimistic of us Houston fans have to be honest about the little nagging pit of fear that we get when it is James in a big playoff game.
there is a slight chance depending on what other moves are made and how good he ultimately is plus how much of a leap the young guys make in the immediate future but I am not signing Harden thinking about championships 2 or 3 years from now I want Harden because he is the best at the things that we desperately need, and his addition will greatly help the development of our young players Will Harden help in the development of these young guys and give them a taste of winning/allow them to immediately play in meaningful games as they develop? If yes, then he is already worth it to me if we can go from worst in the league for 3 years running to consistent playoff team the next 4 years, then he is worth it playoffs are where guys grow up or get exposed…it would be great for this young core to start experiencing that Jalen Green is only 21, Sengun 20, Jabari 19, Wemby 19…by the time a 4 year Harden deal is done, these guys won’t even be in their prime yet we have ample time to eventually get to a contending level with these guys, it doesn’t need to happen immediately…nor do I expect it to Harden is like a bridge signing to me ass for 3 years as we tanked and drafted at the top of the lottery -> consistent playoff team the next 3-4 years and maybe more depending on growth and roster additions with Harden -> hopeful run at contention with the young guys entering their prime after having gotten a decent amount of playoff experience while developing next to master floor general and playmaker in Harden and at age 36-37, I can definitely see Harden averaging at least 15-17 points and 10-11 assists while Wemby/Green/etc are picking up the scoring slack
sorry man, but this is a reach to me there were no off vibes last night…Sixers were up big, Maxey was cooking, and the rest of the team was scoring consistently in the 4th…Harden played 39 minutes last night, and 41 and 47 minutes the previous 2 games…it’s natural that he’d relax in the 4th quarter last night, the Sixers have another big game coming up tomorrow in which he’ll have to play over 40 minutes again you’re talking as if game 5 was some intense, down to the wire contest in the 4th, and Harden was shook shying away from the ball
Harden-Wemby PnR is a match made in heaven…Wemby getting drafted to Houston and starting off his career with the Harden stimulus package is like a wet dream if Wemby ends up in Houston, Harden is a priority, must-have signing
Why the heck would Harden want to come here? He is in a great situation in Philly alongside a MVP with a strong chance at championship opportunities. There's no way.
Ralph averaged 21 pts / 11 boards / 2 assists per game. Why do you feel with a new coach that this is not an achievable number for Wemby?
Ralph was 23 when drafted ... hope for the world but don't expect that kinda performance from the 19 yr old.
This has been answered countless times in this very thread and well reported by the likes of Woj. It isn't breaking news
You fools acting like Victor is coming to Houston? The Rockets will pick #4, at best. Prepare yourself.
he was the lead assistant in year 1 of the nets and its already been reported both have a good relationship
