That block was insane, but I couldn't believe he was doing that stuff given the game situation and his nagging injury. Glad he doesn't appear to have re-aggravated it.
The Washed Life James Harden in the Eastern Conference Semifinals 26.4 PTS | 6.6 REB | 8.2 AST (2.2 TOV) 62.7 TS% 41.5 3P% (7.6 attempts) 88.6 FT% (7.4 attempts) Harden has the best AST to TO ratio in the 2nd round amongst players averaging 6 assists per game.
Most 3s made per game this postseason Curry : 4.5 @ 37.9% Thompson : 4.2 @ 39.0% Harden : 3.3 @ 42.3% 3:1 AST:TO for the postseason I had heard that his 3FG% and turnovers wouldn’t help ANYONE.
-- When Joe was an interim before named a permanent coach in Sept/Oct last year; after Ainge snatched Will Hardy, but before Ime was available. I was low key hoping Rockets would snatch Mazzula. As a HC replacement or an assistant somehow. Thought maybe Celtics would chose a Damon Stoudamire. But Brad ended up picking one of the people that was there before Ime came in. From what I can tell, he's kind of morey-ball. Switch defense (big bzdelik) and emphasis on the 3's. For better (or worse) that been a Rockets legacy and influence to most NBA teams for modern basketball in last 20 yrs. Sub-consciously kind of hoped it'd succeed in the playoffs, on the biggest stage. Then it can signify that Rocket's influence and what Daryl did here could work and get your team a championship. Even if Rockets fell short, another team with Moreyball could get you the trophy. People could argue Joe is running an off-brand version of MDA. But evidence-wise, Cetic's offense in reg season did improve (even historically at the beginning of the season). Defense in reg season was also good (didn't drop off), but their playoff defense ranking has dropped to something like 10th (not good). It's also ironic, that Mazzula is doing morey-ball against 76ers, Morey's current team. Couch-analysts bullets of the current series: 1) Joe might be sacrificing too much defense for spacing and 3's. Joe shyed away from playing double bigs more (Al + Rob). Also played Grant less, sacrificing Grant's defense, for other players like Brogdan (offense, spacing). Last night, I don't know if Rob would have made a difference, since Philly was hot in Game 5 from the 3pt line and long mid range two's. But earlier in the series, it might have prevented a loss or two. This was before Doc figured out and improved Philly's spacing. Was thinking this and in recent Windhorst podcast he also stated this. So apparently we're not the only people noticing. 2) Morey ball can be feast or famine. When the 3's don't land, and if you rely too much on it, team can lose. 3) Other stuff folks here noticed last night, but TV people now talking about it next morning. Brown was scoring well for them in Q1, but they stop going to him for shot attempts and only used him as a spacer. 4) The your turn/my turn and insert randomness is not a Moreyball flaw, that's more of a Cetlics thing, and also happend to be a Silas/Rockets thing. 5) For this series, Mazzula does get some of the blame pie. The national media is blaming Joe, but local media put it some of it on Joe, but a lot of the blame really goes to the players. Horford shot badly. Tatum could have passed more. Brown neglected. And other things like the lack of synergy "two man game" as Redick pointed it out on TV this morning. To your original question, If Joe is here; he'd also be an improvement over Silas. Mazzula was there much longer as part of Brown/Tatum's baby years. Brad and Joe did a lot of the growing. Ime did help the Cetlics, but Ime was just there for one year, but got lot of the credit because of the final appearance. Since Silas was bad for us in 'phase1', and we're really still stuck in phase1 as far as the young core. Joe would be a better development coach; Ime could still be good; but I see him more as a phase 3 playoff coach.
I still think this is a 50-50 series. Celtics squeak out another w and they have all the control back.
I really dislike this Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 ish. Ferntits has no clue and thinks he is in control of a switch...... flip a switch .....flip a switch. Why the fork does he feel like appearing again at the press conference and say that kind of bollocks. Using the press conference to get himself in the good graces of the people again with announcing of the new practice facility. This guy is so infuriating at times, should stick to moneymaking.
Voters were like "well we're giving him the MVP this year so that's all he gets" I guess These awards are all about narrative and emotions and nobody should pretend otherwise
