Would be pretty par for the course for an underratedly bad front office and an overzealous owner in Cuban. Dirk dragged their ass to a championship so they got the benefit of the doubt for a while but what they’re doing to Luka is criminal. He should come to the Rockets on a team-friendly contract when his current one expires :p

I would say they managed to get his only good years out of him and once he stoped buying in, they let him go.

Whiteside was a defensive monster. Wood is not even close to being "decent".

Christian Wood for his talent will be out of the league in the next few years.

Reminds me of Michael Beasley. Not a winning player whatsoever.

He was a defensive monster when he felt like it. Inconsistency was a thing for him too. And his offensive upside was nowhere near Wood.

I've never seen him as a good defensive player but if he is when motivated, his mental composition is his biggest obstacle. I think at this stage, he is who he is.

Oh god. Please do not mistake me. I am not defending Wood in the slightest. I think he's terrible. I just think he has a lot in common with Whiteside in that they are incredibly talented players who seem to lack the mental fortitude or work ethic to come anywhere near their potential.

Damn, I actually think Whiteside would be a great backup for Sengun next season

Don't worry, i understood what you meant. I was just adding my opinion. I do get the comparison you're trying to make, i just differ on Wood's defensive abilities. You made me remember that weird time that the Heat even tried to make Whiteside the focus of the team.

If he wasn't a good 3pt shooter he'd be in China 3 years ago.

The real question is, will the rockets waste the small return they did get for Wood? I mean, what are we doing with TyTy? We didn’t play him last year. And we want to pivot to vets this year. I feel like we are ultimately going to get more like a 2nd round return on Wood, because I don’t think we are gonna develop TyTy and if we trade him we won’t get a late 1st value.

I look at the Wood era as failure on multiple levels.

By many accounts Luka's attitude hasn't been great for a couple of seasons now. You have to think one more bad one could be a tipping point.

No way they'd trade him in the division though.
