What is Alperen Şengün's trade value? [Trade value poll series]

I'll admit that I am not a fan of KPJ and Nix. I like everyone else.

My favourite players are Alpi and Tari.

 

Why would you not like Nix? It is not his fault that he was given a contract. I am worried that the people who gave him the contract are still here.

Nix is living proof that no matter how bad you are at your job, you can luck out to get a position and not get rid of. Oh Silas is also proof of that. What a coincidence that we had two.

 

He is just so terrible, and doesn't seem to be humble about it either.

 

I don't like the ranges on this poll. The picks don't decrease linearly in value, in other words, pick 5 is a lot closer to pick 10 than it is to pick 1 in value. It depends on the draft class but generally I think pick 3 is closer to pick 10 than it is to pick 1, again, in terms of value. You wouldn't trade him for a pick anyway, but if you were to trade him for a pick, my answer would be that he's worth a tier2 pick. Depending on the year that could be 2-7 or 3-8 or 4-8 or whatever.

Sengun's a weird cat. Which players in this draft would I trade him for? Wemby and Scoot for sure. Beyond that? He's like bizarro Jarace Walker. Great vision and passing but all offense no defense. Walker is backwards.

I wouldn't trade Sengun for anyone outside of Wemby or Scoot. Wouldn't trade him for anyone in last years draft. Wouldn't trade him for Mobley. Probably Cade. So Wemby, Cade and Scoot. That's it.

 

As someone else mentioned, you wouldn’t trade Alpi for another draft pick. You’d trade him for a proven player. Otherwise you’re just turning the rebuild clock back 1-2 seasons. Example: trade Sengun + KJM + Tate for MBridges. Not saying this is an even trade that is fair, but how an actual trade would be structured.

I imagine offering Sengun for pick 6 or 7 would accepted but I would not.

We have to hope that a Tatum type emerges from that group. Im betting on Sengun against the 6th or 7th pick.

 

Honestly going by other fans and players around the league opinion of Sengun it is really high. As it should be. He has a really unique skill set that in the age of Jokic is really valuable

 

While I agree he is seriously valuable, I doubt he has Jokic potential. I do think he can be an all star

 

I agree!!! His ceiling is at the moment higher than Jokic given he is better than Jokic was at the same age. Perhaps he is closer to his ceiling now than Jokic was at that age limiting his ability to get much better than he currently is but only time will tell. I have seen nothing to indicate he is close to his ceiling. He has achieved quite a bit so far and set a few records along the way despite a beyond incompetent coach. I am looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish going forward with a legitimate coach.

 

Some of the insanity on here needs to stop. Rookie Jokic was better then Sengun has ever been, and 2nd year Jokic will almost certainly be better then peak Sengun. Saying this kinda ridiculous stuff isn't making Sengun look better, it just makes his fans look insane. You're talking about a two time MVP (got robbed this year, whatever) and you're saying this dude's ceiling is HIGHER then that? Just stop

There’s probably at most 5-6 guys in the draft that will be better than Alpi, but his actual value is probably 11-14 because mid lottery picks are overvalued as opposed to established guys

If Alpi were to be traded it should be as the centerpiece of a package for an allstar level
guy

I'd say they are very comparable at the age of 20. In fact, their stats look eerily similar (including the fouls, even...).

Of course, that doesn't guarantee that Alpi will continue to improve at the same rate Jokic did, but I also don't see why not, if given the same opportunities Jokic got.
