It is his past, if he didn't have that, he would be a target of a ton of teams, his production is way beyond his contract value.

He is what every team wants a guy with a cheap contract that is performing at a much more expensive level.

If we were to get incredibly lucky and actually get Wembanyama, the Rockets would on the receiving end of an enormous amount of positive publicity. While I’m very doubtful that Harden is going to end up here, were he to do so the combination of the French star, who’s impact on the league has been compared to that of a young LeBron James (the impact, although I have a difficult time seeing it, they’re so different), and James, who’s having a great early playoff run, not to mention our new coach, would make us a very attractive destination for players looking for a new home, in my opinion.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve had some seriously good publicity. Not just positive “press” from the usual sources, but getting the kind of publicity that gets us articles and the like across the country that the millions of “casuals” will see with interest. Pretty freaky if it happens, even if the odds are massively against us. It’s way past time since we got a break like that. Perhaps we’re due.

If my aunt had a D...well these days she'd still be a woman so not a good analogy.

No team wants a knucklehead unless they are desperate. That's how we got him.

This is quite the gymnastic gold medal performance reply right here

I guess your past really is your present

He didn't catch a body or sprewell a coach, so if he is performing way above his current deal then they should be able to fetch a nice haul for a 22 yr old stud going into his 5th season

Its pretty important for the league to keep a Texas team in the mix, even though Dallas imploded post all star break they were still getting heavy publicity for the meltdown plus they just came off a WCF trip

But the league for most part always kept one or two of TX teams in the postseason pot and soon the Rockets or Spurs are coming back to the mix, Dallas just has to retool around Luka, and if they resign Irving they will remain with that bad and sometimes good Luka publicity spotlight because the league hates what Irving did during the height of the plandemic situation and more recent since the league thought they tanked it last couple weeks of season which cost them having a all NBA player not in at least the play in

Which makes the next two seasons for the rockets first round lotto picks(including Alpi/Eason) crucial in taking that star leap, inclusive with whoever they take with a upcoming top 2-3 selection

If the Rockets can get Jaylen brown without trading a potentially Wemby pick you do it in a heartbeat

Depends on who you give up. I don't see Jaylen Brown as a number 1 anyway. He's a piece that you add when you already your guy in place.

I'm very optimistic about the impact Coach Udoka will have on our group of young potential "star" talent - Jalen, Jabari, Alpi and Tari, along with some others I think could be solid to better than solid rotation pieces. Usman (who I think could end up better than most give him credit for), KMJ (find a decent 3 over the summer, dude!), Ty Ty (another possible surprise), and @Williamson's guy, Josh, who I thought turned a corner with his play late. I might have forgotten someone, perhaps more than one. ;-)

I want to see Ime unlock the potential that's lurking in several of both groups of players. Of course, some might, and a couple likely will be victims of player movement related to deals. We'll see.

Jaylen brown is a top 5 two way wing if not player in the nba with leadership intangibles and the ability to guard the opposing players best player and go off for 30 on the other end. Players like that are hard to find especially given how valuable they are in todays nba and game style

You are thinking as if it's still 2002 when the way the game was played, finding a guy who could score 19 points and get 6 assists was difficult. Those numbers by themselves used to be enough to get you an all star team.

Offensive basketball has changed.and the way people analyze it has changed. It's just fundamentally more common to rack up bigger numbers now, and more people are cognizant of situations - KPJ being given carte blanche to do whatever he wants like a superstar level player on a team that was tanking is a known situation and discounted accordingly.

I would counter with a team that lacked a system or quality shooters around him.

22-11 doesn't get Harden all star but 17-11 wins MVP for Nash, pt proven by you

If we draft Wemby then I really can see a Green package built for Jaylen Brown. Especially if Boston flames out before the finals.

There is too much smoke there.

I really don’t think Stone and Ime are going to sacrifice over a decade with Jalen for a few years of Jaylen trying to make the playoffs

The Ferittas, Stone, and Ime seem to have the same vision of crawl, walk, run and long term success

I also think Tilly wants a home grown team

We'll see. Stone might be on the hotseat for all we know. He's already been here for 3 years. He has to start winning soon, no owner wants to lose for 5 years straight.

I think the clock starts now for Stone, KPJ, Green, Sengun

We got Tilly drunk yelling pray for Victor so it seems the whole organization knows we were tanking as hard as possible so I don’t think he holds it against Stone. I think Tilly wanted to blow it all up and have a home grown squad to start the Feritta era without Les’s baggage

I think Ime uses this year to evaluate everybody and him and Stone will start really making the tuff decisions around trade deadline or end of next season

I'm really trying to understand how people think through these trade proposals.

The Celtics have a superstar in Tatum where they went to win now. If you think the difference between Green and Brown results in a lot more wins to get out of a alleged hot seat for a gm why would the Celtics consider the trade?

Since when does a PG have fans that point to everyone and everything around him for his play?

Is it not a PG's role to get everyone better shots?

In terms of play style KPJ is on Rafer Alston's level, And-1 baller with decent handles, middling vision and middling assist-to-TO and poor team efficiency numbers. His ceiling is Marbury or Francis if something doesn't change vision & IQ-wise.

It's all speculation on Brown's side and camp. It's becoming a high possibility that he will not sign an extension on Boston. This would force Boston to shop Brown on the market. The question then becomes who can bid the highest and who the Celtics value.
