This one should be a little more interesting than the first thread, I hope. Next up in the series is Alpi, presumably one of our highest-value players. At age 20, he is still younger than many rookies despite entering into his third year in the league, and his offensive production and rebounding last season were already well above average.

Please remember that trade value should factor in the contract the player is on, his age, and future potential. It is not a direct ranking of a player's production.

The poll choices will be in the form of what level of draft pick the player is worth (if any), just to keep things simple.

In this year's draft? A top 5-10 pick. There is some generational talent at the top of the draft this year so Sengun won't have the value of a top 2 or three pick this year at least. Next draft class is weak so you could probably get a top 5 draft pick for Sengun next year.

All hypotheticals as I don't want to trade Sengun.

Wouldn't trade him for anyone. He has the potential to be the best player in the NBA in a few years.

Lol I don't even think that for Green.

Players who deserve that type of hype are guys like Zion when he was healthy putting up an efficient 26 ppg at age 20 or Luka or LeBron when he was 19.

This is not a good poll. If you were to trade a high value prospect at 20 years old, it's going to be for a experienced player not another pick. It wouldn't make sense for either team to do your options.

You would not trade for anyone at all. Do you think a single GM would agree with you? I seriously seriously doubt it.

This is also true. When you do a trade it's for something you are missing and something the other team is missing or else what is the point? Trades for young talented players only happens if the other team is moving for a young talented player and the team trading the young talented player believes they need a good veteran instead of a young talented player.

    lol

sorry ATW, but that's just not based in reality. He can be good, yes, even very good. But "the best player in the NBA"?

    I'll have what she's having.gif

I appreciate the honesty even if it's delusional.

I think it's important to note that when we're dealing with some of the extremists on this site that they actually believe their guy is going to be the best player in the league one day and that they wouldn't trade them for literally anyone. ATW is honest about this, @fchowd0311 thinks the exact same way about Jalen Green, but he'd never admit it.....but he'll lose his mind if anyone suggests that his guy might be getting shopped.

It's fine to have overly zealous fans, but it's important to remember who they are and take what they say with a grain of salt as a result.

I chose to use draft picks as my measuring stick because they're the closest thing the NBA has to "currency". You can mentally substitute it for a player of similar value, pretend it's a three team trade or whatever.

Is OP trying to create a trade value thread for each player on the roster? I know the offseason could be boring but this is sad. Get a life, please.

Meh, I think he has the potential to be among the Top 15 at least for a while.

But it is just my hunch, GMs do not care.

Takes about 5 minutes to make one of these. If you have a problem with it, don't click on them. If Clutch has a problem with it, he can delete the threads and/or tell me to stop. Also, I'm only doing rotation players, so 8 threads total (one per week).

If teams are thinking Baby Jokic.....should be
worth two first round picks by himself.

Since his salary is small you have to package Sengun with other players in order to get more value back.

The Rockets can't recoup what they spent to
obtain Sengun.....adding Tate, J Christopher, Kenyon, Nix, TyTy, Garuba will help.

    I still say:

Sengun, JC, Nix..... x.....Cam Johnson $20M (SnT)
    and
    Tate...........x............Nic Claxton

Don't get Sengun unless you do the other trade as well

Then add Harden in free agency

He has a chance to become a solid offensive player, maybe he could peak as a really poor mans jokic but he can't shoot and sucks on defense

ATW I want to take a second to appreciate how even though you're all-in on Sengun to an almost absurd level that I don't agree with (who knows, maybe you'll be proven right), you're generally not going around attacking other users or tearing down other Rockets' players about it.
