We need a pg. Jaylen brown requires actual assets for a potential 1 year rental. Who are u even trading for Brown?
Pfffft. Throwing low value assets like it's 2k and hoping u can grab a quality player like brown. B realistic Unless he outright states he want out, anybody trading for him is gonna get trade r2pe by the celtics
Awful take. I rather we save money running it back with kpj as the faux pg and i hate kpj as our pg. Fvv couldn't do jack sht with the raptors and a coach in nurse. He aint gonna do much either with an even younger team and ime. U grab the best playmaker avaliable, draft a rookie pg or just wait it out. Wasting money on any pg to not grab a hof talent in harden is just a recipe for failure, in my opinion. Someone's bound to overpay for fvv and find out it wasn't worth, hopefully it ain't us
I've had enough of the undersized guys playing the 3 spot & being overmatched on the defensive end of the floor. I'd rather roll with KJM and Tari at that position, both 6'7-6'8. Don't get me wrong, Josh Hart is a good player, just don't think he's a fit for this team because he'd compete with Jalen Green for minutes.
I'm kinda out on KJ a bit as a fit with the rest of the team. He's a nice rim runner, but I don't see the defensive instincts or shooting ability to do what we need on a team that desperately needs players who have both. When you look at him next to the other guys, he honestly looks more 6'5", too. If we for some reason don't pick up a 3-and-D guy this offseason, I'd rather see Tari start even though he struggled finishing around the basket. KJ should be a great guy to package in some kind of trade. Could really help some of those teams in luxury cap hell by giving them a productive bench player who costs next to nothing.
Lol those fvv over harden ppl, harden at worse is way elite pg who can run the offense, he's not himself anymore but he still better than fvv 5 days out of the week smh
U serious? FVV is much worse than Harden, has missed 18/18/20/17/13 games the past 5 seasons, and is a mini guard who takes a lot of shots at below average efficiency while being just a decent playmaker And if Harden chokes in the playoffs, then what do we call what Freddie does in the postseason with a career average of 10 ppg on 39% from the field and 53% TS? if u want to say, “but Reeko, he was a bench player for some of those games and that has dragged down his numbers in the postseason” then ok…as a starter, he has averaged 17, 4, and 6 on 38% shooting and barely over 50% TS in the playoffs…absolutely atrocious numbers, and he’s supposed to be in his prime…his game log is hideous…if he’s not going 6-10 or 8-10 from 3, he struggles to score over 20 points in a game in the postseason What is the rationale for FVV? He’s younger so you’d rather give him a 4 year deal at big money? What else could it possibly be? A guy that small who already is suspect at scoring could officially become washed before older Harden does while being nowhere near his level to begin with.
I've read all the comments and seen all the facts... I still beleive that if Harden is coming back he's not coming alone! According to Woj players want to play for Udoka, if this is truly the case the second player is what intrigues me the most! We all know what Harden brings to the team AND we also know what his faults are, but that second player is going to be just as important to the organizations future as Getting Harden back! My mind goes back-n-forth on weather getting Harden is the most prudent coarse of action, but it would help tremendously if I knew who that second player would be that is coming as well.... Count me in on the Swiss team!! As long as we don't trade Green,Jabari, Sengun or Tari, I'm ok with whatever the Rockets choose to do! With or without Harden all four players are keepers until Udoka has a chance to coach them!!! Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
Problem is there aren't any other superstar free agents unless you count Kyrie, which... no thank you. None of the guys who might be available to pair with James really excite me. Porzingis? Career-ending injury waiting to happen Vucevic, Jerami Grant? Just not that good. Jaylen Brown via trade? Will start next season as a Boston Celtic, book it. Dame Lillard or Trae Young via trade? Bad fits next to Harden. KAT via trade? Might be the best of these options, but I still don't think 34yo Harden + KAT wins anything as a duo, and Towns would cost a lot of assets. I think the best option next to Harden if we don't land Wemby might be Brook Lopez. That duo isn't winning anything either, but it probably makes the playoffs and makes things a lot easier on the young guys.
I'm definitely not in the Fred VanVleet camp. I'd rather just run it back with KPJ if that were the case. I'd be ok with giving Harden a three year deal at the right number. Three years at 90 million seems fair to me if Harden really wants to come back. We could run KPJ as the 6th man and have Josh Christopher spell Jalen Green. A guard combination of Harden, Green, KPJ, and Christopher is really solid. With the remaining 30 million we would need to grab a starting caliber 3 IF we do not grab Brandon Miller in the draft. We'd still have our full non tax payer MLE and hopefully we can grab a backup center for Sengun with that. Let Tari come off the bench and play the backup 3-4 position, and some limited spot center minutes. All of my thoughts are really contingent on what happens in the draft lottery next week. Once we find out the draft order, we'll then have a clearer direction of where we need to go.
