I’d be perfectly fine with Harden here. We know he’s going to have great moments and not so great moments. I just don’t want him at the max for multiple years. I love seeing him hit game winners. I don’t think his choker reputation is completely warranted.
Stephen A ain't wrong. Harden's gonna be 34 next season. But based on this current playoff run, he's definitely not washed up as some feared a year ago. He's still got a lot of game left in him and is coming up clutch in these games. The question though is what does the Rockets organization envision for "Phase 2" as Tilman called it? I was under the impression that this was a period of 2-3 years where the young core would learn to win before reaching "Phase 3" in which they're hopefully contending for a title. Does Harden really want to come here and be part of a team that's building towards a championship, but not expected to be good enough to win one til he's at the end of his contract and past his prime? Unless Tilman and Rafael are hoping Harden coming here will be like when CP3 was traded to the Suns. They went from a lottery team with a young core to the NBA Finals in a single offseason thanks to his veteran presence.
Yep it’s so rare that he carried the rockets to two western conference finals. Has 47 35 plus points games in the playoffs and 11 over 40. But keep telling us how rare it is
The problem with these type of narratives is bc the expectations for harden seems to be heighten to an unjust level even past his prime. Look at the series and his averages. Imagine just watching this game and stating ya it was a "good performance". Players wish they had a God like performance even once during the playoffs
For a 4-5 years max and as the primary iso player - no. He's just way too inconsistent. For a 2-3 years max and as NOT a primary iso player - yes.
A good game or two doesn't mean you want to get tied to a player that already intentionally sabotaged the team for 200 mil.
Btw, only four players in the league history have over 10 40 plus games in the playoffs! Michael Jordan Jerry west Kobe Bryant and you guessed it James harden
I'm fine with 4 years max. 3 solid to great season and the last one to send him off to retirement as thanks to his tenure as one of the best player to play for the rockets.
Pffft a good game or two. We wish kpj can have that type of performance ever as the pg. U would b slobbering and singing kpj praises if he ever has these type of games. Only Harden with two recent 40+ point game performance would only b considered "good games" By some folks I'm not surprised that u aren't for Harden seeing that harden coming back will open the possibility of kpj being demoted to sixth man where a good of numbers of us wanted/predicted
