Bregman has always been a little overrated to me but I though we were about to see good consistent Bregman after the later part of last year and the great postseason he had. Him being a Mendoza hitter with declining defense this year isn't ideal.
He didn't look this bad I don't recall. Plus the defense is a little concerning. Just sticks out more with the condition of the team currently.
I honestly think you’re exaggerating the desperation of the situation…. They’re probably 2-3 games better than what their record is right now based on run differential, and they play in the perfect division to be fine.
I don't think it is slander to question Crane's decision making this off-season. Crane, of all people, should understand that it's a results based business.
Like I said earlier I think healthy the Astros should still win the AL West so I'm not implying this situation is desperate, the team could have used a better Bregman to start off the year no doubt though with major players being out.
I think it only matters more if all players have their bad months together. Bregman will have a good month while Tucker/Alvarez/Pena have a bad one, etc. etc. etc. Altuve/Brantley will come back and start hitting and somebody else will start slumping. Bregman still getting on base and striking out little so the hits will eventually get there.
