Correct - he has an obligation to put his duties as POTUS before being a father when there is a conflict between the two. I don’t know to what degree, if any Hunter Biden acted in a way or resulted in his father compromising himself. What I can say is that a lot of people will understand how Biden answered the questions and how direct he was. I don’t think Obama or Trump or Clinton or Bush would have provided such as short and concise answer to the question - especially with the political implications being so high. Reagan and Kennedy are the last two President’s with the brass balls to answer like that. Maybe Biden really believes his son 100%… maybe he figures he is so old that she doesn’t care about legacy… maybe he figures he can get away with it - I don’t know… but I do know that isn’t the answer his handlers or advisors would want him to give.
I'm not sure if you're aware but the us attorney investigating hunter is a Trump nominee. He has full power to charge hunter with whatever crimes he finds worthy. Biden hasn't reassigned the us attorney or interfered in the investigation. The attorney doesn't need Garland or anyone's permission to charge him. The investigation is independent
I am aware - and the fact that Joe Biden hasn’t reassigned the prosecutor is part of the reason I say he has brass balls.
And was the VP. He said he trust his son and is proud of him. He’s showing emotion support to his son, someone that lost his mother and sister at a young age and has mental health and addiction issue. That’s what a loving father does. You are a father so I’m sure you understand this.
But but but what about the letter former intel officalls wrote forming an opinion LOL! @basso these right wing trolls cling onto conspiracies that biden somehow interfered in the election by writing an opinion letter while the right actively tried to rig the election and overturn. Active government offical colluding on how to overturn the election. Like I said these right wingers are nothing but hypocrites. All of them. Whatever bs they accuse biden of is what their side is doing on steroids.
123 just wanted to have a relaxing evening watching the derby and now yall got him reliving his Trump experience in the Biden corruption thread. Let him make it. Have some empathy.
Yes, our standard is very low after what Trump and Barr did. But I'm glad Biden is setting an example of the right standard. It's really up to the voters to choose wisely.
can't believe my thread has slipped to the second page https://www.wsj.com/articles/my-son...ndictment-5b0df0d8?mod=hp_opin_pos_5#cxrecs_s Biden Says ‘My Son Has Done Nothing Wrong’ The President sends an inappropriate signal to the Justice Department. By The Editorial Board May 7, 2023 at 2:33 pm ET President Biden says he doesn’t interfere with the Justice Department’s prosecutorial decisions, but influence can take many forms. One is to send a public signal in an interview that Attorney General Merrick Garland will hear. That’s what Mr. Biden did Friday when asked in a rare interview about the probe into his son Hunter’s misadventures. “My son has done nothing wrong,” the President said on MSNBC. “I trust him. I have faith in him, and it impacts my Presidency by making me feel proud of him.” That’s a highly inappropriate message from a President. He’s essentially telling prosecutors that they are wrong to bring an indictment because Hunter is innocent of any criminal behavior. Some might think it’s only natural for a father to defend the son he loves, but the Justice Department is part of the executive branch that he runs. Mr. Garland and his prosecutors work for the President. It’s true that other Presidents have crossed this line. Donald Trump made numerous comments about the innocence of his political allies and, worse, the need to indict his enemies. In July 2017, he attacked then Attorney General Jeff Sessions, saying he “has taken a very weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes.” GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham criticized the comments. “Prosecutorial decisions should be based on applying facts to the law without hint of political motivation,” he said. “To do otherwise is to run away from the long-standing American tradition of separating the law from politics regardless of party.” These columns noted at the time that “Mr. Trump’s suggestion that his Attorney General prosecute his defeated opponent is the kind of crude political retribution one expects in Erdogan’s Turkey or Duterte’s Philippines.” Mr. Biden ran for the White House claiming he was better than Mr. Trump on these political norms. Apparently not. Yet Democrats and the media have also been mostly silent about Mr. Biden’s remarks about his son. Double standard? All of this is especially relevant now as the press is reporting that Hunter Biden’s lawyers recently met with prosecutors. Hunter has hired a new lawyer, the prominent white-collar defense attorney Abbe Lowell, and Axios reports that Hunter may establish a legal defense fund. This suggests that Hunter may be preparing for a possible indictment related to his business dealings, among other things. Mr. Biden’s claims about his son’s innocence complicate the job of federal prosecutors. Such a high-profile probe is always fraught with political implications, and many Americans will assume political influence if there is no indictment. But Mr. Biden shouldn’t feed those suspicions with his public statements. Appeared in the May 8, 2023, print edition as '‘My Son Has Done Nothing Wrong’'. it was wrong when Trump did it; it's wrong now
once again this thread slipped to the second page . . . it's as if nobody cares White House bans The Post from Biden event as Hunter indictment looms https://nypost.com/2023/05/08/white...-from-biden-event-as-hunter-indictment-looms/
The lowest since 1968, Wait. Hold on. You just said the entire federal spending for the last 2 years went to job creation? LMAO! See someone with a modicum of intelligence would take the difference between the past 2 years and the 2 years before that; then POSSIBLY use that number. Hell no, you went full on stupidity.
not sure I'm seeing it The issue is that we had low unemployment before without the inflation and higher taxes. If you just get back to the same unemployment as before, but to get there you have to spend six trillion dollars and have 8% inflation, that isn't great. I would much rather have the same unemployment numbers without 8% inflation. In fact, I would rather have 8% unemployment without the inflation and higher taxes. No, spending whatever it takes to drive down unemployment is not a good idea. Here is what conservative bastion CNN had to say about Biden's job creation numbers: (62) Fact check: Biden's claim about 12 million new jobs (cnn.com) Anyone can spend 10.5 trillion dollars and grow 12 million jobs. That's about 875,000 dollars in federal spending per job. You can think it is great if you want. It isn't great for the people paying the bills. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...cept-os-trigonum.315188/page-41#post-14623274
Then you are blind. You said 875,000 per job as if the entire 10.5 trillion was to get jobs. How about doing the inverse? Trump spent over 19 trillion in 4 years to lose 3 million jobs during his presidency.
I'm sorry you have poor reading comprehension skills. You're the one who said 10.5 trillion was spent to gain 12 million jobs, not me. That 10.5 trillion was the Federal Budget. Not a job creation budget. Quit playing stupid.
I'm not the one who said anything. Post #801 was written by @StupidMoniker https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...cept-os-trigonum.315188/page-41#post-14623274
