Christian Wood will "almost certainly" leave Mavs in free agency

Miami wouldn’t want him - they choose guys like Butler, Lowry, Tucker, and Bam for a reason. They are one of the few teams who build a culture through acquisition as well as how they shape them in house - it’s slow work, but it is effective. Wood would never fit their culture and they wouldn’t waste time even bothering with him.

…hats off to Pat Riley - dude runs the team in the most glamorous and indulgent place in the world for a young millionaire and his answer to that is to pick the guys with singular focus and drive and create a culture of dedication, toughness, and accountability. That’s a hard to thing to do in a city built for vice.

Letting brunson was a huge mistake, followed by the mistakes of signing wood and kyrie. they are just lucky that the latter two mistakes can be gotten rid off quite easily.

I like Wood's potential more than most, but there is a reason why he never works out anywhere. Wood is a menace to himself and he doesn't ever seem to learn why. It can't always be everyone else. He needs to fix himself, but I don't think he will ever understand that.
