One thing this tells is ‘the your turn my turn iso offense’ is extremely looked down upon by everyone.
If green is the victim of stereotyping too, it will be even more fun to watch sengun&green crush other teams.
If it was pure Rockets hate, then Sengun wouldn't have made the list or they could have put Alp in the last round. Jabari and Green's stats just weren't mind blowing, I put a lot of it is on Silas and how it made them look. Are there negative Rockets media bias, yes, but a lot of it is also our overall team just looked really bad; and that could have affected Jabari and Green's stocks. But reputation-wise it's not just the Ringer. Ime has to bring the value of these guys up. Because if the league don't think high of them, we can't even get good pieces during trade talks. Or if Stone ends up near max their contracts, then the next Rockets GM might be stuck. Nobody is banging off the door yet on that Wizard GM job. Young guys take time to develop, sure and maybe they'll pan out. But hope is at least they're somewhat decent while on the cheap rookie deals. Year 3-4, that's their timetable. It's enough for most young players in the league. It should be enough for our guys. Because if they're only good by the time Rockets pay them big money, then what are we doing here. We could have gone out and bought someone already, who is good and also at a high price, and Rockets don't have to wonder if that player will pan out. Plus, Rockets org avoid suffer through more franchise low winning seasons. The Harden/CP3/Westbrook/Wall money is no longer on the books. Cap space is finally freed up, young bloods have to earn their keep here. p.s. Some of the young players might not hit their ceilings, but could still have a long NBA career. However, when Rockets contract extension talk, if their performance numbers don't go up, they shouldn't be expecting near max money. If they're OK with money fitting their actual skills and performance (instead of upside), then keep the experiment going a little longer.
Hey Alpi! Please take the next Turkish Airlines flight back to Houston asap and start working on your D, free throws, and 3-point shot. Vacation is over and time to hone your skills under the guidance of your new coach.
I think he will return soon as the finals are over because starting early would be unfair to the other teams. See: Such a saint is my boy.
there is certainly some opportunity missed. And it is due to the way rockets tanked. As much as Silas gets all the hate, it is mainly on the front office.
Lol, you guys have been clamoring for a long athletic defensive big. Holmgren is that and he can shoot 3s and off the dribble game. I like him, I like Wemby even more
Front office share some blame sure and it's hard to predict the future. My thing some coaches make players look good in their system even if their underlying potential might not be the projected ceiling. Bret Brown made Simmons look good. Lamelo started to look worse after Borrego left. Snyder got Rudy paid. Nurse making Barnes ROTY, where it's possible the next head coach will hit a wall at development. As Stone approaches pivot year, where many options is on the table, if Silas had made the young guys look more promising, it'd be easier not just in trade considerations, but willingness from other near stars / vets to come here, instead of only using money (overpay) and promise of minutes as the carrot.
You had Jabari 2nd. We used to argue about this. I did have Paolo number, then Jabari. I do see what you were saying about Chet. He’s still a question mark, but I was sleeping on him
On super low efficiency while being one of the worst defensive players in the league. Right now, he's not very good despite what some Rockets fans seem to want to believe. If he drastically improves his defense while figuring out how to score efficiently, he'll get on lists in the future.
IN. THE. LEAGUE. Chet Holmgren is an idea. An idea with a frail frame that's already sustained a broken foot. Jalen Green, warts and all, is better than everyone who's ever played ZERO NBA MINUTES.
