We could get really hot and win 12 of the next 15. That would completely change everyone’s pessimistic outlook and yet it would still be very early in the season, with all possibilities (good or bad) still in front of us. 5 more months folks.
Sure, that could happen. But at some point, it's no longer a slump. Eventually we may have to acknowledge most of these guys are either being asked to do more than they're capable of, having down years, or washed up.
I was told Diaz will play more when he does what is expected of him outside the lines of the game. It is frustrating and I question if it will work - but if it improves the practice habits and discipline of Diaz, I support it. Crane is a very shrewd man, and Brown is as well...... and Baker knows people extremely well, if they support it, I will just bite my tongue and deal with it.
I still don't get Dusty's aversion to bunting. He cost us a game earlier this season when he didn't have Hensley bunt in extra innings.
Im still not worried about the team over 162, a lot of the issues will take care of themselves. But good lord is this tough to watch right now.
On the pre game radio show today Dusty said Diaz will “be a major contributor before the end of the season” so do with that what you will….
Wake up Hensley. He’s been a bust this year. Framber pitching his ass off and they can’t score one run.
Right, some seasons are just bad because of injuries or age or a numerical fluke - but May 3rd isn't the time to make that determination for a team that has been to 4 WS, has won 2 WS .... is coming off the most dominant season in franchise history - and is over 500 with an expected winning % of over 62% even with 40% of the starters on the DL.
