People getting pretty feisty over these two non-Rockets players lol

My MVP was Embiid because I think he was much better defensively and I think they were pretty close on offense this season, and I don't agree with siloing off defense from the MVP award.

But I also think this should have been a lot closer than it was. These two guys were neck-and-neck on overall value IMO.

Considering there are more people who think Jokic is the better of the two than other way around you should consider switching sides.

To me….Jokic, Giannis and Embiid all had very real MVP cases. My vote would have been Jokic and if all 3 had never won a MVP prior to this season I think it would have been nearly a 3 way tie. Could be wrong but I think Embiid not having one and being so close previously swayed some voters.

There have been years where I thought the voters clearly got it wrong. This isn’t one of them.

Awards are made up, I used to get mad about narrative being part of the criteria, but since awards are made up why shouldn't it?

Embiid has had 3 straight top tier MVP candidate seasons and it seems factually wrong to say that Jokic was so much better that the MVP tally between the 2 should be a 3-0 Jokic shutout, espcially since Jokic clearly didn't care down the stretch and mailed it in.

At some point you have to watch the games and you can't just use the "box plus minus winner = MVP" heuristic.

Did he not even give a nod to Hakeem?

BTW, What is the value of negative zero? Is it less or more than zero?
