In a series in which the bullpen might be taxed, why would you come in with Montero and Pressly? Blanco has the capability to finish this game. Simply absurd game management.
Well yeah, it’s a long season and losing Montero would have pushed everyone up in the pen and left a hole for a top end pen arm. it isn’t like he has been awful this year either, he has a sub 3 era.
We aren't saying he's a terrible pitcher, but we are saying $13 million a year was a rather ridiculous signing for a pitcher with only 1 good year on his entire resume. I predicted a 3.50 era middling type year, and we shall see how it plays out. So far his WHIP is saying this might all come crashing down.
Man, some of you will complain about literally any aspect of any game ever… it’s comical…. And you’d think people had never seen an entire baseball season before, let alone almost a half-season’s worth of playoff games over the last decade. Especially people claiming they’d be fine if Blanco came in and gave up his usual… or Martinez. If Pressly needs more regular work to get right, so be it. If he’s in there because he hasn’t pitched many back to back games all season, so be it. Some say he can’t pitch in save situations (laughable)… so maybe he needs to work on that as well, lol. They’ve earned the benefit of the doubt on how the bullpen is managed.
No it wasn't. You don't pay top dollar for a journeyman poor reliever with 1 good year under his belt. Right now all the Crane moves have been a giant bust. Montero Abreu No Catcher No Starting pitching after JV left Even CF could of been addressed. Instead we continue to carry on way under the threshold.
