Now that I know the guy was drunk, that changes everything. Definitely has nothing to do with easy access to guns anymore.

Can never understand the conservatives/gun supporters desire to identify the nationality/immigration status of folks who commit the disgusting crimes with the gun and the nationality/immigration status of the victims to push their weird anti immigration stance to distract from the gun violence.

U want to figure out the sexual orientation of the shooters/victims next?

Would a background check for a firearm purchase even cover immigration status?

Should substance abuse then disqualify f someone from owning a firearm?

Yes, any mental illness or anger management issue should disqualify you from having a gun.

And every gun should have a serial number just like a car and require every sale be registered.

Sure. Possessing a firearm while under the influence is not legal in Texas.

So would you then support drunk testing for those who own firearms like we do for drunk driving? Anyone who owns a firearms who is found intoxicated gives up their firearms?

Yet he still got a firearm. Apparently LEO knew he did. That should tell you there’s a problem with the availability of firearms in this country.

If they are carrying or driving with a firearm, yes. If it is locked up in a safe or stored safely, no test necessary.

“Possession” isn’t just carrying. I legally possess my car even when I’m not driving. If the law is specifically possession of a firearm then intoxication at any point should mean they lose they possession.

I don’t understand why people are so heartless…it’s sickening

so many people don’t view others as actual human beings

5 people dead, and Abbott is calling them illegals when he’s not even correct…such a POS

After Bay St. Louis police responded to the home where the party was, they found the various gunshot victims and later arrested Cameron Everett Brand, 19, of Pass Christian.

Police arrested Brand at his home and charged him with four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of murder.. He is being held without bond on the murder charges.

Prior to his arrest in the mass shooting, Brand had other run-ins with law enforcement, resulting in charges that including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of mar1juana, and domestic violence by simple assault along with a charge for violating a protection order, according to records obtained by the Sun Herald.

He’d also been cited in the past for violating his bond conditions on earlier charges, but was a free man when he showed up at the party and allegedly carried out the shooting.

Does any of this prior behavior stop u from owning a gun legally these days? If it’s his parents’ gun, I don’t mind them getting some sort of charge either…reckless something at the very least, failure to secure a firearm (Idk if that’s actually a thing)…anything

he was mexican. the people he murdered were honduran.

the first report i saw said he was mexican. what difference does it make though?

i guess i shouldnt be surprised anymore, but abbott focusing on the fact that they were illegal immigrants is pretty disgusting. doesnt seem very "christian" to me.

I am trying to imagine the group of people that would be allowed to possess a gun in your scenario. I am not sure.

An 8 year old boy executed. 2 women died using their body to shield and protect kids. I don't think normal people care if they are legal resident or not.
