They are all different people, but the "great passer big man + dynamic guard(s)" model is good, even though some here think big men should primarily be [lob threats/rim protectors/3-point shooters/whatever Sengun is not (yet)].

Suggestion was most of those were somewhat more worthy. In overall the Fox and Sabonis duo is fairly new and unproven to this point.

And this is why a lot of pundits had Jabari Smith over Paolo.

    The reality check sinks in.

Sabonis played off the court in the first round.

We should trade Sengun for Sabonis if we want him to be our Sabonis.

    OP? Any takers?

If we aspire to be a team with a 2nd round ceiling at best then yes let's try to create a Fox and Sabonis duo

Lol, ok well all we have to go on near unanimous ROY that we actually wanted per big Tilly vs the guy who got zero votes...

...but anyway trying to make Banchero, who is bigger and stronger than Smith and who plays ab entirely different style, into the Sabonis to Jabari Smith's putative Kevon Looney is sauce that is literally negative scovile units.

It's ok to root for the home team but no. It honestly doesn't matter that Kevin O'Connor had somebody somewhere on his Big Board - has nothing to do with Sabonis at all.

Blah blah blah Banchero is just another in a long line of heliocentric no defense easy to shut down when it matters stat fillers that can't ****ing shoot.

ROY like that matters lo freaking ehlllll

It's a shooter and defenders league. Banchero isn't either of those things.

Tbh with you i'm looking at perimeter defenders and shooters we have, this team's ceiling is absolutely lower than Kings.

Rookie Banchero has better 3pt percentage than rookie Lebron. No i didn't say he'll be as good as Lebron. Yes he will become a better shooter.

Since there’s no more Rockets games you guys find creative ways to sht on Sengun.

Sabonis got shutdown on offense and destroyed on the boards by Looney. This is actually a great sign for Sengun since it had nothing to do with defense.

Banchero will never be a great 3 pt shooter. He's dangerous as a driver and distributor. Teams will gladly take him spotting up on 3s over driving into the paint...which is kinda naturally what he wants to do. Jabari is the exact opposite to this. He wants to shoot 3s and getting jump shots off at the nail and around the free throw line.

Jabari literally lives in the areas that win you playoff games. Banchero doesn't. If Paolo wasn't so much of a plodder and a poor defender of course it'd be different (he'd be Lebron basically). Jabari may end up being worse than Banchero as a player (probably not) but I'll still roll the dice on his archetype over Banchero's. Sabonis was neutralized in this series. Same thing will happen to Paolo.

I mean....we watched Harden for years. We saw it in person. And Harden was better than Paolo will ever be.

I'd actually agree with you if Jabari was good at basketball but he just isn't. His ceiling might just be Harrison Barnes and he's not really setting the world in fire in playoffs. Banchero is good at basketball so i'm betting on him being a better playoff performer down the line.

Unfortunate that Jabari has clearly maxed out his abilities his rookie year. That's usually when athletes reach the peak of their powers.

Some limitations stay as limitations. There is a reason why there aren't 30 Lebrons, 40 Currys and 90 Giannises in the league.

He projects as an unblockable shooter with insane defense. Giannis is a hilarious example btw. Struggling to adapt to the NBA is completely normal for players like him. Especially with the most dysfunctional coaching staff in the league.

Bari will be fine. If he looks like ass in a year then I'll be concerned.
