Its time to discuss trading Jalen Green while he's still worth a damn

I would be pretty upset if we maxed out both Harden and Brown, but what if we only traded and then maxed out Brown? And overpaid for Reaves or Cam Johnson? And drafted Wemby? I feel like we would win a nice window of playoff berths while still developing younger blue chip players and have some draft capital left over.

So many permutations, but it's very unlikely we are winning the championship in the 3 seasons and less likely if we try and grow this core together.

Exactly. You almost always have to have a superstar in your team to be in the mix. A legit superstar. Even with Brown or Bridges this team screams 1st round exit. We are gonna fall short when we face Durant, Jokic, Embiid, Curry, Doncic etc.

Durant is getting pretty old. We aren’t likely to be title worthy next year.

    Jokic-Maybe Denver is strong.

Embiid-That means we are in the finals.

    Curry-See Durant.

Doncic-Dallas sucks. He couldnt carry that team to the playoffs.

Something like the below is attainable and opens a 2-3 year window with plenty of youth after.

    Turner/Sengun
    Smith
    Bridges or Brown/Eason
    Green and KPJ
    Harden

I don’t think we should trade Green. Why? Because he is on a rookie deal and he will develop correctly under the new coach. Also we can sign quality guys outright because we have a lot of money to spend. Not to mention we have draft picks. I would just add on to what we have so that we can have a really deep team.

This isn’t anything new. Some time ago I said I had heard that they were foolishly considering dealing their pick outside the top 2-3… then Rockets suck off Kelly Iko said the same thing.

I don’t doubt they would listen, but they aren’t getting anything better than the upside of Amen Thompson, Jarace Walker or Cam Whitmore.
