Thank you for giving a detailed response and stating your position. It’s both helpful for the discussion and informative. I truly mean that. Now to the substance. Yes zebra mussels have played a role in improvement of water clarity. As noted water clarity isn’t the only factor in water pollution. And there are some very clear waters that are still considered polluted they you wouldn’t want to swim in. I’m not an expert in this by any means but my understanding is that yes Zebra mussels consume bacteria and other other microbes that thrive in waters with excess nutrients , euthrophic waters. So they are benefitting from the increase in nutrients that humans have poured into waters ways through agricultural and lawn care pollution. The problem though as noted is that zebra mussels are thriving to the detriment of native species and so are themselves indirectly a result of human pollution. That they are improving water clarity has to be weighed to native eco systems. Also yes zebra mussels are not solely the main factor for reducing pollution. There have been increased regulations in dumping into the Great Lakes watershed along with improved technology regarding the handling and processing of waste. The return of fish species that were decimated into the Great Lakes is due in i more than just the actions of zebra mussels. To the philosophical question of whether mollusk can have a proverbial hand in cleaning pollution in this case the answer is there is no volition on the part of the mollusks. Zebra mussels in North America are themselves due to human activity and that there is a side benefit to them is coincidental. To whether the environment is adapting to zebra mussels I’ve seen reports that some local fish species are now eating them. Nature left on its own is resilient and eventually can find a balance. It moves slowly though and human interventions work much faster than most natural environments can adapt.

One of the things you do here is that you'll post an article than if anyone debates it you accuse them of arguing a strawman since it's not your personal opinion. It seems in this way you are able to push an agenda while cutting off any kind of response or debate.
I’ll admit for my own mental health and that it’s not easy to see Rockets games in national TV I haven’t seen much of Sengun the last two seasons.
Electric Vehicle Boom May Force China to Burn More Dirty Coal Coal expansion is China’s only short-term option, says ANZ China’s power market contends with weakening hydropower https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-boom-may-force-china-to-burn-more-dirty-coal
Gotta agree. Once, I was leaving my relatives' farm in France to catch a flight back home. I was stuck in a massive traffic jam that threatened to make me miss my flight. When I finally got to the front of it, I discovered it was caused by farmers protesting low crop prices. Literally coming from my family's farm, I should have been sympathetic, but I hated their guts by the time I got to the front of the line. I did catch the flight, but there was a lot of speeding and running with kids in arms involved. Higher electric demand would result in higher wholesale prices, which would stimulate more investment in generation, much of which would end up being green given the investment environment. If you wait for generation to be in place, it won't show up because the demand isn't there yet. Worst case, a coal plant is put back online as reliability-must-run for 2 years while its replacement is built. From the energy side, I'd say don't worry, build the demand and supply will match it. FPL has Florida on lockdown. No way they're letting you out of the monopoly.
Yeah that kinda sucks. But once I'll have more liquidity, I am getting that solar roof anyway! But one thing they do here is that they STILL force you to be hooked up to FPL, and you couldn't sell back to the grid at market prices or whatever, some strange shenanigans.
The battery manufacturering that's coming onshore is remarkable. We've never seen anything like this in american history. @AroundTheWorld whines that solar panel cost so much and that's bcz our leaders sold us out in the name of neoliberalism. Bidens climate bill has made in America provisions for solar panels and have to made here to qualify for full subsidies. This is how you drive down costs
