I really don't see the "Sengunatics" thing. There was one poster who was over the top, but he got banned. There are a couple posters who may be over the top (Germanturk and an Afghan/German poster, forgot the handle) who barely post. And the rest are just regular fans, who happen to like this player, that includes myself and posters like @cml750 and @CXbby. The Turkish fans like @Ankara1923, @AlperenSengun (not sure he is even Turkish), @mirdirir are all reasonable and well-spoken. It seems more of a self-reinforcing narrative at this point that is not supported by reality. Nothing compared to Lin fans. And at least, Sengun fans have a basis for their fandom - creative, likeable player. The handful KPJ stans...not so much.
agreed nothing compared to Lin fans. But it's the obsessive, endless, near-exclusive Sengun focus that gets (at times) tiresome. Similarly, turning everyone conversation into a referendum on Sengun gets tiresome--although that's what makes satirizing and trolling the Sengunatics fun and profitable. I guess my thinking is, "if the shoe fits, wear it." If the term "Sengunatics" gets mentioned, and that mention gets a rise out of someone sensitive enough to the charge that they respond, then it makes the trolling of Sengunatics all worth it. Sengunacy probably deserves its own thread in the D&D
I know that for some posters, including myself, watching Sengun has actually re-ignited our Rockets fandom. After watching people who are just frankly not likable for years, after watching iso ball for years, after watching KPJ and Christian Wood pout on the court, watching selfish, losing basketball for years, seeing someone come in and do this was just a breath of fresh air. (I also love seeing Tari's hustle and KMJ's and Jalen's dunks. Am still not sure about whether I like or dislike Jabari's attitude.)
People have no nuance to anything these days. Mulvaney is not advertising for Tampax. These idiots hear something and run with it. Mulvaney has stated they carry Tampax/Tampons because sometimes a biological woman needs one, doesn't have one, and Mulvaney has them if this occurs. The whole Bud Light thing is ridiculous. They made a can for one person. Not for sale. No one knew or cared until someone on the right started freaking out. So they have done nothing except give Mulvaney popularity.
