I sometimes envy how the Spurs got to watch many players for decades and grow with them. We want to trade our kids immediately for short win now windows like all the other loser teams keep trying. Trying to buy championships because we can't build champions.

Unfortunately KPJ doesn’t have much value, unlike Green.

 

Our best assets should be on the table at this stage, except the 2023 draft pick (until we know the draft order).

Don’t get too attached to our roster or the timeline of the young guys.

 

It really shouldn't. Unless it's geniune franchise player at the very least level of Trae or LaMelo. It's definitely too early to just trade one of the core for a Bridges or Brown level player.

 

The transfer portal has really ruined the NBA.

 

Is Jaylen Brown or Mikal Bridges taking us to the promise land? For the sake of argument add Harden into the mix as well. What are we winning? What resources are left to fill out the rest of the team? We would be just what Udoka said, a mid tier team going nowhere. Jalen Green is here for the foreseeable future.

 

Or possibly the right time. I think it will be very hard to keep our core together and these types of conversations and decisions are going to come up. We can agree to disagree.
