I’d rather have option A. The Texans now have the guy they believe will be their QB for the next 10-15 years and they now have elite talent at the next 3 most important positions in football (LT, DE and CB1).

Anderson will probably be better than anyone that was available at 12 and they can trade still trade up tonight and grab a decent player.

As far as next season they will have a 1st and 2nd pick plus 100 million in cap space.

I like the Anderson pick. It’ll be worth it. Sucks not being able to draft another WR but there’s still solid options available. Mayer and Schmitz are no good.

Fair points. With regards to the 2024 draft, it is seemingly VERY top heavy with Caleb, Maye and Harrison being the headliners. Outside of those 3, are the rest of the players head and shoulders better? I mean Quinn Ewers is being projected as the 3rd best QB and Top 10 pick. As a Longhorn, I hope he is but that is massive prediction.

He looks like Tyga and his brother looks like Grady from Sanford and Son. Guess we're stuck with him for 4yrs.

Besides the guys you mention Id be in on Bowers, Verse, Kool Aid, Dallas Turner, --- there will be several T prospects that would have gone first off the board at the position in this draft. I think its safe to say a good portion of draftniks view next year as a higher caliber draft (and with that said watch THIS draft turn out to be historic!) its just the nature of the beast in these situations. Im really not invested enough to die on a hill about it and I am excited as a Texan fan to see how these moves pan out.

I think he should be fired for making that trade. Completely unforced error. Anderson had to be JJ Watt for this to feel even remotely fair. I’m still really upset about it. Reeks of desperation

Right. The Colts were 100% going to draft a QB. Every team - and fan watching - knew this. Given that not a single team after Indianapolis picked Levis, the last possible QB that would have interested QB-needy teams was Anthony Richardson. And yet, we haven't heard a single peep about teams kicking the tires on moving ahead of the Colts. Even Indianapolis obviously didn't make much effort to ensure they landed their guy. Maybe they viewed AR = Levis and were content, either way. But I think the most likely answer is that once Stroud was off the board, the QB market essentially dried up.

As I said initially, if Stroud and Anderson both work out, the damage will be quickly forgotten. Given the shape of the QB market, you could argue the Texans *did* make this move to secure Stroud - even if the pick itself was used on Anderson.

I'm happy. I think it was awesome. No other way would we have had two of the top 5 draft picks. I'd love to see another trade up tonight for a top WR.

This is an interesting point. If you're good, then you get your second contract faster. If you're bad, then team wasn't going to exercise the option, anyway.

I question your judgement if you have a problem with Mayer or Schmitz.
