lol Jalen Green for Jaylen Brown is a bad deal. The Rockets should not shift to win-now mode unless they get Wemby who should have an immediate impact. Glad that the Rockets shut this down quick.

I love that about Stone and Caserio. They will just drop a bread crumb trail right into a sewer and let these ego riddled "reporters" fight about the scoop! So called insiders have been given way too much access and weight in player evals and awards. Feed them sht and keep them in the dark!

I didn't mention Harden at all. Harden is a win immediately player, he has a window of two years or less. Brown is not that. He has a window of six years or more. NBA players do not drop dead at 30, I don't know why you think Brown would have his season at a high level at that age. Lebron is 38, Steph is 35, KD is 34, Butler and Klay are 33 and they are still killing it in the playoffs. Maybe you don't think Brown is on their level. Those are superstars, after all. Well lower tier players like Jrue Holiday and Demar Derozan are 32/33, playing at the exact same level they have for years and both were all stars this season.

People's perception of NBA primes are skewed. A lot of people want Mikal Bridges because he's the young hotness, a blossoming star on the Nets. But Jaylen Brown, who is younger than Bridges, will decline in three years and we can't build around him. Doesn't make sense to me.

I don't get how dudes on Rockets Twitter get so personally offended that some other twitter dope alludes to something that their source contradicts and gets really incensed/animated about shutting down the twitter convo.

Like literally who cares? It's just idle talk, it's not hurting anybody. I don't care which twitter randos have better anonymous sources.

If he ages like Jrue, i hope we have a mega star like Giannis, but we traded him away for Jrue in that Bucks scenario.
If he's Derozan, he's just a guy helping you spin the mediocrity wheels.

You said it. He's not a superstar. If he was a true superstar, i would have belief in his conditioning and body to hold up through his mid 30s unlike Harden's body type. Jalen has much higher upside to Jaylen or Bridges. They are #2's(at least in Jaylens case) entering their late 20s and if old past prime Harden is your #1 and you traded the young kid(s) who could very likely go on to be the Harden like superstar who dominates until his late 30s, you don't want to look back with hindsight after it's too late.

He's not 22 year old Harden being had for a Kevin Martin level player and some late lottery picks. You're trading the young James Harden for 27 year old Kevin Martin in this scenario.

Kevin Martin is a better Malcolm Brogdon but not Jaylen Brown but yeah I get it.

I would want to hear from Udoka personally whom he wants first.

Yeah, you know what i mean. K-Mart at 26 to 28 would have been a really good #2 or #3 on a true contender with a mega star #1 in todays era, but if he's your #1 or #2 to a past prime player-you're probably a pretender.
He started falling off after 30 which is a cowinkadink to my earlier point.

Ime just got finished discussing the youth was part of why he wanted to be here. Not to be a mediocre team with 5th seed ceiling but chance to grow long term

Doubt we trade a 20 year old for a 27 year old just to game for play in or playoffs

To me personally, I think KPJ, Green, Jabari, sengun, and Tari are borderline untouchable this off-season and we blow our money on buying the best bench(short term success that doesn’t ruin the long term plan)

Even Ime is smart enough to know if he thought his boy Brown was coming he would tell Stone to wait until he’s unrestricted vs send talent

I would trade Green and a couple picks for Edwards though if Minny want to restock picks
