    How would you do this?
Extra tight end, max protect and only send out 2 (receivers) so he won't face any pressure? (sorry, couldn't resist)

Stroud HAS to have a certain level of mobility to make the offense pressure all points of the defense/field consistently.
And he will need to BE ACCURATE throwing off of said movement!

I actually think that early, pre-Haynesworth Schaub is a good baseline to hope for.
No one would EVER accuse Schaubby of being an uber-athlete but he was mobile enough to run Kubes mis-direction, play-action passes and accurate enough to hit the deep crossers off of said action.

So I surely HOPE that Stroud will fit this offense!
    Time (and reps) will tell.

I can kinda get the comp based on the way Stroud stayed in the pocket this year, but he’s way more talented than Shaub was. I see Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, Dak level QB play, but do think he’s got a higher ceiling if he masters the system.

Yes he's DEFINITELY more athletic than Schaub.
My main point was that he'll have to be ACCURATE throwing on the move to make the Kubiak/Shanahan offense work best.

LMAO, what if we all found out that the S2C test was actually a game of Wac-a-mole?

Matt Schaub ran over a 5.04 40 at the combine....

CJ Stroud is reportedly a 4.65-4.7 guy per reports.

Totally different athlete and you can see it on tape.

The Schaub comparison is due to....because he played for the Texans?

Dak Prescott is his floor. Aaron Rodgers is his High End imo.

Definitely like the pick. Schaubie would say this was his favorite offense to play in. It cut the field in half for those worrying about Stroud's processing . The line and the TEs make the deception happen. Nothing has changed that much just a little more Pistol action which we saw at its infancy stages back in the day. Stroud can make the throws. Now how long will it take for Stroud to master the offense, that's another discussion. It takes the O line a season or 2

Stroud is not a 4.6 guy.
4.75 -4.9 type with average burst and agility.
Not bad but not new age either.

And we have to be more fair to him. Goff/Dak/Cousins is probably closer to his ceiling.
He is nowhere near the athlete Rodgers or the arm, Rodgers is in conversation for best all time.
    That’s not fair to Stroud

Love Schaubie aint no way he ran the 40 in 5 secs. 10 seconds in real time is more like it.

Rewatched Stroud vs Georgia. If this is truly who he is then things will be fine. He looked like Herbert to me in that game. Herbert also showed himself out in his final collegiate game, so there’s something. But we need some WRs

No. 1: C.J. Stroud, Ohio State
What Simms Said: “This is as close to Joe Burrow as I’ve seen coming out in the draft here. I mean, when you just talk about great decision-making, quickness…when you talk about hitting the bullseye on a consistent basis, C.J. Stroud’s ability to make high-level throws and just drop the ball in receiver’s pockets, hit them in the chest, wherever, it’s off the charts good…his arm is better than Burrow’s was coming out…his throwing, especially with the ability to power throw and put the ball into tight windows time after time after time, I’d actually give him the advantage over Joe Burrow in that department.”

Goff, Dak, and Cousins were not nearly as good of prospects coming out of the draft, but sure
His ceiling? LMAO. Oh we are still hating this am.

Goff was a great prospect coming out.

I’m all for “haven’t seen a franchise QB in a while” eff you Watson, hopefully Stroud earns that spot and shows us what he’s capable of

Within the first 1 minute of the Stroud highlights below there were two out of the pocket plays Schaub would have never been able to make in his lifetime. If you're worried about Stroud not having the mental aptitude to read defenses also remember that Kubiak kept it simple for Schaub and didn't allow him to change plays at the line. I think Stroud will be perfect.
