I think CJ will be fine within the tenets of the Shanny WC offense it will take a little time to get it clicking. I think some of the vitriol is unwarranted and falls under the individual preference part of fandom. Hopefully he works hard and makes the nonbelievers support him. I used to watch a bunch of fiIm on CJ. He's gifted with a great arm and the ability to fit the ball into places the other guys cant - and do it routinely. That is the biggest prerequisite for the intermediate passing game this offense will try to roll out. Personally I was just hoping to bum rush the league with an RPO attack from hell. CJ fits the pocket passer mold so many wanted - some of the attacks are just fans venting and coping with the pick best way they can. It is what it is now - time to find some playmakers to throw to.
I think CJ is good enough to run RPO QB runs a few times a game just to keep the league honest. He isn't a bad athlete and his speed is similar to Burrow, Rodgers, etc. He is a better athlete than given credit for. I can see why people love AR. Going to be really cool to play him 2x a year. What a challenge for Demeco.

Watching CJ press conference, he seems like a really good kid that will be easy to root for. Seems very no nonsense and focused on ball.

CJ has sneaky athleticism. From my time reading and watching him he wanted to establish himself as a pocket passer which was the style that many felt contributed to winning football. He will do fine - this OL is good enough to keep him clean. He needs REAL playmakers to throw to though. What we have is not good enough.

Thats probably the best kind of guy to have on 3rd down situations though dont you think? A guy that the defense wont expect to run, but can. I dont need him to bust out long gainers like AR would, but get that first down and regroup for the next set of downs - I think he can do that.
Absolutely, it’s the guys you don’t expect. The kid has ability, I don’t see massive upside like the top guys in the league but I think we can win with him
