    Partially agree @cmoak1982
He’s adamant he’ll suck and bust; not sure I’m willing to go so far :D but…

Ohio State QB (fair or unfair; save your Burrow hypothetical, I don’t care.)
May have played with a better WR core (and OL) in college than he ever will in the NFL (Wilson, Olave, JSN, Harrison)
    Handling pressure
    S2 score
    Agent

    Kirk Herbstreit
    Bobby Hoying(1996/3-85)
    Joe Germaine(1999/4-101)
    Steve Bellisari(2002/6-205)
    Craig Krenzel(2004/5-148)
    Troy Smith(2007/5-174)
    Todd Boeckman
Terrelle Pryor(2011 supplemental draft; moved to WR)
    Braxton Miller(2016/3-85; moved to WR)
    J.T. Barrett
    Cardale Jones(2016/4-139)
    Dwayne Haskins(2019/1-15)
    Justin Fields(2021/1-11)
    C.J. Stroud(2023/1-?)

    Not one? Not one?!

Its a thin line between dressing fashonably, and dressing like a clown.

    1. S2 is not an intelligence test.
    2. He handled pressure just fine against the best defense in college football.
    3. His head coach told him not to run because they have no QB depth and he didn’t want Stroud to get hurt and ruin their season.

There are no prospects in this draft (or, in most drafts) that don't have question marks. If the Texans draft Stroud, or Anderson, there is a reasonable case to make. The scouting consensus, physical measurables, performance and potential make them both credible selections to me. I would question drafting Jaylen Carter, or Tyree Wilson, or Will Levis.
If the Texans want to double up on defense and try and get Trey Lance, I see the value there, too.

You can put up a list like that for almost every school.

    It tests processing.
He was terrible under pressure, one game doesn’t change that.
    He’s not athletic

    Man!
My absolute worst fear after the final game last season was that not only did we lose Bryce Young but that we'd also end up taking CJ Stroud as well.
Been hoping/trying to tell myself this wasn't true but it looks like it will be. (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!)

Oh well, if so I'll root for him to be awesome and win many Superb Owls here!
Here's hoping the Georgia game was him finally evolving and putting it "all together"!

I’m not “IN” on anybody, but I do fear that passing on Anthony Richardson might in hindsight be the story of many a GM picking high in this draft

Whether you love Stroud or not, you can’t debate the fact that this team needs a QB who can POTENTIALLY be the future of the franchise. QBs in the first round are an absolute crapshoot so he has just as good of a chance as being a star as anyone else. Hell, when Watson was drafted there were plenty of reasons to be skeptical of the pick and other than the off field issues he turned out to be a damn good QB while he was here. I’d rather take a shot on a QB and it be a complete failure than wonder “what if” by being too scared to take a shot on one. Here’s to hoping he’s our face of the franchise!

No Pitt QBs did anything. Until Marino did

No Tech QB did anything. Until Mahomes did.

Wyoming QBs have always been awesome just like Josh Allen.

I can keep going. I don’t understand the logic of this position that because other guys from universities didn’t pan out, no QB could ever change that.

I'm good with Stroud. I'm good with a trade up. Let's go!

If Will Levis got picked you bet like hell I would support him. I just don’t want to see David Mills or some 5th round QB trying to win the job. Let’s put the potential on the field.

    It’s the system.
And it’s more than just Ohio St. he’s terrible under pressure and no QB has done well performing so bad on the S2

Yeah, but there’s been a LOT of bust QB’s out of Ohio State the past couple of decades
