I am unsure as well. He will definitely get bullied on defense. If he can stay healthy he will adjust and be very good unless injuries de-rail him. He looks like a taller Durant to me. He will suck at center so the question becomes can he effectively play one of the forward positions.

He's a billionaire. Only a miniscule number of people have been able to achieve that. It's not luck.
I wonder if most just don't realize just how rare and difficult that is.

Draymond Green might be a guy who ima might look at to assist him in setting up a defensive culture

I have a feeling Draymond is not going to age well plus will be hindered when not getting those GS whistles. Pass.

Stone and Tilman have fixed the Rockets image and reputation from Moreys atrocious culture.

Doesn't surprise me players eat to come here now.

the "atrocious culture" created the best rockets team in over 20 years that was a 65 win perennial contender.

Meanwhile the supposedly image fixers have this team as the worst for years. Yeah great culture. Way to go to fix the image

dudes in here love to premature nut over and over

“players wants to come here now”

I had forgotten that we had to beg people to come to Houston under Morey.

I don't think he will. I think you guys are thinking he's a center. He's not. He is possibly even a small forward, but at least a power forward. And he isn't really any skinnier than Evan Mobley - but he's a lot more fluid and skilled than him. It's really wild to me that anybody can doubt this kid. The only thing that can derail him is injuries. If he's able to stay healthy he is as sure of a thing as anybody since LeBron.

    I’m thinking a few things….

    1. The Fertz have learned some lessons the last 6 years.

    2. To our credit, we’ve treated some players right over the last few years, and that probably helps us.

    3. Silas was a giant mistake but I think that the leadership just saw it as easy to roll out complete dog **** from top to bottom for three years to ensure we at least garnered some talent. I think it was a lot of intent. No doubt someone like Udoka would’ve been good for Jalen Green and KPJ over the last couple years BUT that coach may have committed suicide.

    4. I am now optimistic that there is the sort of organizational alignment and structure to lead to a successful phase 2.

How come we didn't party when Wood and Theis came here. The prized FA signings of the aforementioned. awesome culture with awesome signings with the fixed image!

The atrocious culture is previous players openly talking about Morey publicly treating players like assets or numbers on a spreadsheet and anyone outside of Harden would be traded if the math looked better for Moreyball

It's getting more and more ridiculous by the day to consider signing Harden first (if it's a real option).

Like I said for months, the playoffs will make major players available in trade or in near-term free agency. We've heard rumblings about potential change for Jaylen Brown, Brooke Lopez, Jrue Holiday, Kawhi and thus Paul George, KAT, Zion, Draymond, etc.

Absurd that there are still people campaigning to sign Harden without any guarantee of another star joining. He will be 34-38 years old making roughly $45-$55m per season with the least taken care of and most beaten up body in the NBA. We ate sh*t for 3 years to get $53m in cap space and we're going to spend $45m on a James Harden who wants to relax in his life? Imagine tanking for 3 years and swallowing Wall's contract for that long and all the things we did just to take the absolute biggest risk in NBA free agency. My god.

Other than Jaylen, there is no one on that list I am more interested in than Harden. Kawhi, Paul George, and Zion are way more likely to get hurt than Harden. Brook Lopez is also getting old and slow. KAT doesn’t play defense and will cost you the max as well and does not play a position we are in need of. Draymond is slowing down and is a psycho. Jrue is not a PG and is also getting old.

And silly folks like you spin that into atrocious culture. Just plain stupidity

y’all bittch and complain about players controlling pretty much everything. Leaving and doing what they want. Then when someone doesn’t lock themselves into players ooohh wahhhhh atrocious culture who clearly is trying to find the right combination to give the best chance at winning. Gtfoh with that bs
