Friend wants to do a bet that the Texans take a QB with 2nd pick or just wherever the Texans end up picking.... that first pick they do is a QB. Should I say no and take the bet?
Seems like that's the rumor all around and I feel like he can be had at pick 29. Nobody has him on projected in first round?
Spoiler They don’t want a QB at 2, then fine, **** it. Don’t draft one until the 4th/5th. After all, the “system” makes the QB and “we don’t need a star”. Jake Haener in the 4th/5th Clayton Tune in the 6th/7th Dorian Thompson-Robinson/Max Duggan/Stetson Bennett/Tyson Bagent in the 7th. Millhouse/Keenum/mid-late draft pick can duke it out!
Thats what I’m hoping for also. Jump in that 7 or 8 range to get AR15 or Stroud. A tru nightmare if that’s the case
What I would really like, is for once to not have to "wait and see" when it comes to how the draft turns out. Wait and see, wait and see, dammit for once I want guys that make immediate exciting impacts on Week 1, right away...not "we'll know more in 3 years how to grade this draft"
We took Kenyon Green at 15 last year when he could have been drafted in the 2nd round. Caserio will take Hooker at 12.
If our franchise QB isn’t in this draft, I don’t want to reach. But I’m okay with taking risk on a high upside guy. personally I’m a defense guy so I’d like to get that right. I won’t claim to be a good QB evaluator. I do think we need to come out of this draft with a top TE.
So here is the deal on Skoronski. He will probably be a Guard, but he can play Tackle at a high level. If you were to pick one player out of this draft to most likely make it to Canton when they are done playing, it would be Skoronski. He's that good. He would be a Bruce Matthews comp. I would be on board with a Skoronski pick.
The Texans have Davis Mills.... They do not need a mid round QB who will not be an upgrade. The Texans have already done QB HELL for years and wasted JJ Watt's prime. The Texans have already passed on QB's for the Edge multiple times(was the right move) When will they actually do something different is the question? They arguably drafted the BEST defensive player ever(if you just look at peak prime) and still haven't made it to the AFC championship due to lack of QB. Nick Caseiro has already called Qb's a crapshoot. It really is time to take the shot whether that is Anthony Richardson or CJ Stroud.
