Adrian Woj: Free Agents would love to play for Ime Udoka

Can you imagine his reaction when Harden shows up out of shape and refuses to give any effort?

 

if harden commits to slimming down and playing defense, it can work. But will he?

the problem is I don’t like the other available alternatives at point guard; maybe FVV.

 

Harden/Grant Williams or FVV/CamJohnson?

It might come down to a 2v2. You probably can't sign Harden and FVV or Cam because of salaries unless Harden takes a massive paycut to win.

Never know though.

 

I really don't think FVV will be looking for a bench role, and that's what he'd have in Houston.

 

Unless KPJ gets dealt. Everything is up in the air, the lottery selection show changes everything.

 

I guess it's possible, but I don't think a coach comes in talking about shooting being a priority only to trade the best shooter on the roster and replace him with an inferior shooter.

um…FVV is a career 37% 3pt shooter. He’s not inferior at all. And he’s miles better as a defender and in assist/TO. I’m not sure I understand why you don’t think he’d be a starting point guard (he won a championship btw), vs KPJ who is clearly more of a shooting guard. KPJ would be great in a shooting role. Not sure why FVV and KPJ have to be mutually exclusive.

He's coming off a 34% 3 point shooting season, maybe that's a fluke, maybe it's not....

Either way, I go with the younger guy who produced more with absolutely no talent around him to help him out.

 

it’s obviously not representative cause he is 37% career (including this down yr). He’s actually in his prime. I’ll go with the nba champion…who play defense…and doesn’t whine, or fake injuries…and moves without the ball.

 

Maybe you would, but the Rockets will probably go with the younger, better player....even if someone else happened to be on a championship team once upon a time.....only to later get their coach fired with their play.

You might as well get on board now to avoid the discomfort later when reality hits.

I read recently that he actually ran the most miles per game for a few years in a row. He def moves without the ball.
