I wasn't the one personalizing the conversation.

And I'm fine with Biden, except for his age. Better than the drama of a Trump administration. I'm not crazy about his pandering to the far left, I agree he has gone overboard compared to Obama. But at least he's the grownup in the room. He ran on being "not Trump" and so far he has successfully been "not Trump."

I’ve certainly followed Biden’s policies but then I’m a politics nerd.

I don’t agree with all of them and think several of them are too costly but in general I think most of them have been good for the country. Infrastructure is one of my biggest issues and he’s certainly advanced that.

This election though is more than just about policies. What we saw with the Trump presidency and especially how it ended does show that there is a battle for the soul of this country. Much of the Republican Party is one that doesn’t accept elections, is driven by grievance and nativism. It’s also rife with hucksters and grifters. The 2022 midterms there were election deniers like Kari Lake and Tudor Dixon, grifters like Mehmet Oz, both like JD Vance, and then people who had no business running for office like Herschel Walker. The commonality was all of those were advanced by Trump.

If Biden had passed no legislation and really was the doddering fool that his critics portray him as I would still support him over a return the party of Trump and Jan. 6.

At this point, a rubber duck could beat Trump in the general election.

I think Dems might have to worry about a Trump/DeSantis ticket running against a Kamala Harris ticket

just saying the DeSantis VP nomination might convince so-called swing voters to once again hold their noses and vote for Trump, instead of risking Biden dying in office and leaving Harris in charge

Kamala Harris is pretty much the new Sarah Palin

Not so sure, DeSantis is really doing things that will turn off swing voters

    1. Anti-capitalist policies (especially with Disney)
    2. Near complete banning of abortions
    3. Reducing Floridians health rights
    4. Giving insurance companies more leverage with consumers
    5. Engaging in censorship

They may play well to his Floridian base, but on a national stage, they are likely going to blow him up.

"Decline" to you means what? Lowest unemployment in modern history? More people working construction than ever before? First industrial policy in over 80 years ? More manufacturing jobs than at any point in decades?

We live in the greatest country in the world and you folks sound very absurd.

If you want me to be honest with you that number is more like 95% or so... people just don't care about policy. It's all vibes

The funniest folks are those who are obsessed with this new BRICS obsession. Right wingers want America to fail so whenever they see any other alliances competing with us they wet their pants. It's funny how @AroundTheWorld somehow didn't mention us India trade is at all time high and they're cutting off buying weapons from Russia and buying more from us.

I use to think @AroundTheWorld was a smart moderate.

I don't know about all that, it's still on a slow decline even if Biden has helped stem the bleeding.

Depends on what you want out of life. If I don't want my kids to be shot going to school or have to deal with racist backwater rednecks that reminisce on the old days, I can think of quite a few better places. I'll be heading on a European vacation this summer and I'll get to see first hand if America is as great as people say it is.

The dollar's position as the default world currency is declining every year. The US is having trouble selling the government bond, I wonder what will the government do if we cannot sell the bonds outside of the US anymore. We are staring at a stagflation possibility this year.

Really??? Can you show me a chart of global reserves which shows the dollar declining??? I'll be waiting ? I'm sure you're not spewing whatever conspiracy you read somewhere else would you. The us government has NO problem selling its bonds. What are you even saying? The fed can just do QE nd buy them. What are you seriously talking about

"We are entering stagflating" while we have record low unemployment.

Trump will not run with anyone who isn’t a kiss ass. No way DeSantis is his running mate.
