This Cleveland offense is the same thing we saw when JB was coaching here. Dribble dribble dribble for 14 seconds before they start anything.
I am really happy Evan Mobley is showing his bad play offensively especially, he literally has no Purpose or Real Intention to be a Real Playmaker for Others. He stands in the corner watches Garland, Mitchell, Levert take most of the Shots. Defensively Mobley is getting outmuscled by Randle and Mitchell Robinson for Rebounds. Mitchell Robinson and Giannis deserved to be in the Finalist for DPOTY instead of Mobley, Even Jarrett Allen deserves it more than Mobley. Jarrett does all of the heavy lifting.
KPJ, Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith over Ben Simmons, Caris Levert, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen $200 Million Dollar Scrubs that are slow, Low IQ in Creating their own Shot, very slow Shooter (Mobley), or terrible form (Simmons, Allen) Rockets really would've barely make the play in and be in bankruptcy, plus Rockets Fans Love Ben Simmons, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen more than our own Players. SMH Thank Goodness for Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith, Tari Eason, TyTy, Josh C
1. League average doesnt mean player average. If you take your average player and make him shoot middies he gonna shoot lower than average. 2. Shooting mid range in the playoffs is playing soft, you settle for jumpshots instead of going to hard to the rack. Yeah refs let players play more, but in general its still better to go hard to the rim than shoot mid range Js. 3. Its not a coincidence Mid range specialists have 0 rings. Cp0, Carmelo Anthony, Rudy Gay, Demar Derozan etc. Meanwhile 3 pt and layup liners have all the rings Lebron, Giannis, Steph, KD these guys dont really shoot a lot of middies, at least compared to their 3s and paint shots. Edit: I guess Kawhi and KG have rings, but Kawhi is just crazy unrealistic accurate and both are generational defenders so there's that.
List Ime Udoka as a Real Coach - Check Add Quality Assistant Coaches that can pass Knowledge and Experience to the younger players. Would Love to add a Former Point Guard that was a Great Passer to help out the Guards. Need a Point Guard - Speed, Quick Passer, Excellent Shooter, High IQ, Doesnt matter the Pick is 20, Find the Player KPJ off the bench Add Veterans
Sometimes players don't get exposed until the bright lights are shining on them. Personally, I've always liked Donovan, but just the same pattern with this guy in the playoffs. Needs a lot of shots to get his numbers, usually has a few bad games and maybe a couple of good games. The best Donovan I saw was in the bubble and he couldn't finish off the Nuggets. He was at his best in an empty "arena", so I guess this speaks volumes of him being unable to deliver in the playoffs.
bro I didn't know Jarrett Allen was only 6'9! the way some of you clown Sengun for being 6'11.. what if we had 6'9 ass Jarrett allen at center?
It comes down to expectations right. I had Cavs being a first rd exit, even though I think they are a promising team. Both can be true. When Jokic was on the come up, Nuggets was 1st round exits for the Harden era Rockets. Now Jokic couple times mvp, and people throwing out Sengun upside comps. The national media had Cavs as a dark horse going further... If that was the consensus, maybe I should have put money down (I don't gamble...but it almost made me wish I did). Also remember when this Cavs team faced us this past season and they did a clinic on us. Folks can gloat, but they are at a place where we want to be soon record wise. They are a team that climbed into mid tier... And they have to figure out if they can reach the next level: maybe they will, maybe they won't. Remember if their pieces don't fit, they can still trade for other good parts. Whereas we're still trying to bring up the value of our pieces. Cavs can get better players from a Donovan or Allen, than if we dangled KJ or KPJ. But as Rockets fans we should keenly be aware we would have to climb into that same mid tier before going up even higher to be one of the more realistic playoff contenders.
