Jose altuve's OPS for his first 4 years was 725.5. There have been multiple playoff games that all we needed was the single slapped the other way that I would have loved to have 4 four years Altuve. Id be perfectly happy with him Batting 9th getting on base for the people that do have the 850+ OPS.

If Brantley/Chas/Altuve/Yordan all come back fully heathly I don't see him keeping the pace or playing muchbut he's definitely swayed me out of the he needs to be cut camp.

Pretty sure it was mentioned during yesterday's game he'd be gone the next two days.

Remember in the World Series when it seemed like we couldn't find a designated hitter.

We won't have a spot, unless he takes Jake's spot. Then we also have Brantley coming back. I guess they can all take turns being designated hitter. LOL.
Yes! We don't have that problem now. That's great!

7-4 at the moment - win one more and make me a savant! (And not of the idiot variety for once.)

    No pitchers ever get bored.

Hitters playing for a job don't get bored.

    Ballplayers don't get bored.

    Fans might?

    You might?

You can attribute whatever psychology you’d like (boredom, fatigue, excess-use injuries, etc), but the evidence of post-championship hangovers is real: https://www.casino.org/features/championship-slumps/

Also, it is borderline absurd to suggest team mood, whether excitement or boredom, doesn’t affect performance. No player would agree, especially during the dog days or when the inevitable playoffs are all that matter and are 150 games away.

Regardless, I called 8-4 against good teams after a horrible start. They might go 8-4 against good teams after a horrible start.

My theory has historical evidence and a public prediction going for it. How’s your assertion going?

And if he's batting .330 I frankly don't care that much about the walks or the power, if he somehow kept up that type of average and a .770 ops I wouldn't have anything to say, with his defense and versatility it would probably put him at like a 4.5-5 WAR season!

I don't need him to hit homers either, doubles and triples are plenty of power for me. I just know he's going to have to do other things at the plate than hit singles in order to keep his OPS afloat.

Again, I hope Dubon proves me wrong and he has the highest chase rate and lowest strikeout rate in the league and bats .390 with 0 home runs and 4 walks. I'll be the first one celebrating it.

Well if he developed into Jose Altuve I literally wouldn't have anything to say except give him his props, and I'm perfectly fine with Dubon doing what he is doing. It should be celebrated.

I just get pissy when peeps start talking crazy about benching Pena for dubon when Tuve comes back.

Dubon works bc we have so many people who can drive you in if you get on base. Between tucker, bregman, yordan, abraeu someone is driving you in so that is why it's so crucial for guys like tuve, dubon, Pena and brantley to get on and keep that line up churning.

Oh I'm sorry, you were the one who said you were a "savant". I really don't give a ****, but good luck with you on the rest of it!

I just know that I don't care much about gambling outside of the few games I'm really, really good at: craps, anything with cards, dominoes, darts, foosball, that's about it.

I suck at pool unless I'm half/half...then the parabola of excellence comes into play.

I also said “idiot savant” … I’m pretty sure that wasn’t bragging.

Good lord man - you don’t have to be an ******* all the time. I was hoping they would turn it around for these games, and they did.
