Ivey's numbers look inflated because he had the whole back court to himself with Cade's injury this year. Ivey is kind of a Ja clone and you see what he does in the playoffs last night; no shot selection, insane athleticism, can drive to the basket, but if you look at the playoffs as a whole, it's predicated on 3 point shooting and defense

    I had
    1 Jabari
    2 Banchero
    3 Ivey

I've questioned whether I would switch Banchero and Bari up a few times this year, but I keep reminding myself why I wanted Bari first and I'd still land there. I was just excited we didn't draft Chet.

All he needs is a coach that prioritizes him instead of players with a fraction of his talent. The Ime hire is almost tailor made for Jabari specifically. Don't want to get too ahead of myself but Jabari+Udoka is a potentially insane pairing.

I mean, what did the scouting reports gone wrong? I have just reread some of them, most seem accurate. The surprising thing was, that he shot badly from three. Other than that most reports said, he was an elite shooter, both spot up and off the dribble, that can shoot over most other players and that he was a great defender, with the potential to defend 1-5. His weaknesses was, that he was bad at driving to the basket and a subpar passer and rebounder. I believe had he hit 38% of his threes, that this would be pretty much the player that was advertised.

I just think people were assuming, that his weaknesses can be fixed pretty easily or they were caused by the system (like having Kessler clog up the paint). But I find it pretty encouraging, that he has improved significantly finishing close to the rim and that he has a pretty good rebounder.

Ivey is like in the same mold as Green and KPJ, makes no sense to add him to the team.

I think Jabari was really disappointing to start the season, but I'm warming up to him by the end. His rebounding, defense and even drives have shown improvement.

What's bothering me is still his jump shot, that essentially what will make and break him

He has beautiful form on his jump shot. Once he got comfortable towards the end of the year he shot like 38% from 3. He is going to an incredible player. I think he ends up the best out of the last 3 drafts.

Al Horford thrived under Udoka last season with his rebounding, defense and floor spreading. I could Jabari being used similarly next season.

Jabari was the obvious pick at 3.

I know Wemby is the big prize but if we end up with Scoot now that we have Udoka as a coach I am equally as excited about what he could do with him especially with bringing up the rest of the talent around like Smith, Sengun, Eason etc. Scoot has that same grit and passion as Smith. Those two would be fun to watch.

You can make a very strong and obvious case for Paolo over Jabari...

Anyone else in this draft? Nah. I'm going with Jabari. Chet's been hurt so whatever but Ivey hasn't looked that special to me. I mean sure you can say the same about Jabari but Bari has more unicorn potential and we are very guard heavy and might be adding another guard here very soon in either Harden or Scoot.

I did like Ivey coming out of the draft but I've cooled on him, still was just his rookie season so he could end up becoming a fantastic player but I'm rolling with Bari right now.

Bari was always my #1 pick. If he had been taken at 1 or 2, I would have actually want us to take Ivey over Chet.

So reliable from midrange. It's like free throw for him.

He looked amazing tonight. And you could feel the extra fire in him since he was playing against Wemby. This will be an great year for Jabari

He's looked infinitely better offensively ever since last season ended.

I'm getting more a weakside help defense defender vibe from him down low - purely because he gets bodied very easily in the paint.

Am hoping the defense outside of the paint though becomes a huge focal point for him because he could be elite there.

Seeing the improvement from Jabari kind of makes me more of a sceptic regarding Green.. why isn't he showing this.
