J.J. Watt to receive tribute during NFL draft Texans legend J.J. Watt, a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year during his time with the organization, is set to be recognized by Gatorade for his impact on and off the field during ESPN's broadcast of the first round. Watt was one of the most prominent members of Gatorade's athlete roster throughout his playing career, which came to an end with his retirement this offseason. The tribute video opens with a clip of Watt putting on his helmet and running out of the tunnel before a Texans home game, followed by highlights from his tenures with Houston and the Arizona Cardinals. It also features footage of Watt giving back to the community, whether it be his work in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey or visiting with children at local schools and hospitals, before ending with a shot of him interacting with his son prior to a game last year. In honor of Watt's retirement and his commitment to making an off-the-field impact, Gatorade will donate $99,000 to the Justin J Watt Foundation—a nod to the No. 99, which the 2017 Walter Payton Man of the Year wore throughout his career.
Hearing Stroud just be himself in the presser has really made me warm up to him. I’m liking this kid and believe he’s going to give this org everything he’s got.
