His vertical and broad jump are literally elite for QBs. 4.69 was coming into college, he’s only gotten faster. A low 4.6 is great to elite for QBS, along with his short area burst measurements from Penn St. That with his arm and size, he’s a terrific athlete at QB and for someone his size. That isn’t debatable
Why? I understand not liking Osweiler the QB, but what was wrong with his personality? Corny like Russ? Business oriented like a Brady? That’s the kind of QB I want, a professional that hangs with the right people and isn’t caught up in a glamorous lifestyle with hanger ons.
Funny thing is, Young is a professional and business oriented as well. Comes from a great family and has his head on straight. Speaks like a true pro, but that is ok and not Levis? AR just yesterday talked about him being in the hall of fame, but that’s confidence and not cocky? Only Levis is cocky, corny, or whatever personality trait you can be hypocritical about. Makes absolutely no sense
If we're talking about what Peyton Manning thinks of Will Levis, let's listen to what he says... https://www.kentucky.com/sports/college/kentucky-sports/uk-football/article274397995.html “I think this guy might have been genetically engineered to be an NFL quarterback,” former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning says at one point in an episode of “On the Clock” that breaks down Levis’ game film. “It’s easy to see why the scouts like him. Tough, durable. Makes tight throws in tight windows.” “I get it,” Peyton says after watching a clip of ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. raving about Levis. “I’m drinking the Kool-Aid. I’ve spent some time with this kid. I think he’s the real deal.” Context on the marketing opportunities from the article: The episode also features a scene from the Manning Passing Academy in which Levis solicits advice from Peyton about balancing marketing opportunities with football responsibilities, something that was a storyline for Levis at Kentucky due to his social media following and numerous name, image and likeness endorsement opportunities. ***************************************************** It's ok if ya'll don't like Levis, just like I don't like Stroud. But taking snippets from conversations to sensationalize one perspective smacks of today's media. We're all better than that. BTW, the four QBs they reviewed are Young, Levis, Richardson and Hooker.
Jalen Hurts is a coach's son and religion plays a major part of his upbringing and identity. Winning combo. I really like Hurts the person.
Fundamentally Osweiler seems like a great guy, but there is an underlying sense of fakeness to him. He’s going through the motions to present what he thinks people want to see in a QB instead of just being himself and playing to the best of his abilities. I get that same sense from Levis. He probably actually thinks too much while he’s playing and needs to just let loose. With the right coaching staff it’s possible, but hard to predict a mental state change.
I mean, stepping outside of the analytics and scouting, you have to admit Will Levis LOOKS like a great QB. He is sent straight from central casting.
I could see him overthinking on the field. But I don’t see a fake personality, I see a guy that is strictly business, which I like
If you never watched him play, looked at him throwing shorts, saw his S2 score, and saw him on social media..... You could probably come away with the thought he may be the best QB in this draft. Then you turn on the tape.... and realize he has no business going in the first round.
Would have to be some substantial money to push it that much. Young's odds have also gone down considerably. Its def something to pay attention to this late in the ball game.
