Reading JVG’s tweet about the Rockets hiring him helped me feel more comfortable with him. My concern with him has always been the small tangible track record that he has! He did fairly well one year with a pretty stacked team, hopefully that translates onto the Rockets!!!

(P.S.) KPJ is the one who will gain the most or lose the most! He’s on notice…

    Go Rockets!!!

Any chance of adding a "Too early to tell" or "Undecided" option? Because that's where I'm at.

There's a chance more stuff comes out about the controversy in Boston and all the headlines are "Rockets Coach Ime Udoka... [did whatever]". There's a possibility he didn't learn his lesson and does the same sh** with us, although I hope not. There's a possibility he just had a great situation and it doesn't translate to Houston.

There are some things that make me feel positive, and some things that give me pause or cause for concern. It's too early to tell. He's not my least favorite option that was floated and there's a possibility he is, in fact, the best basketball coach of the bunch. Overall, I think I would have preferred Atkinson or Nurse, but maybe this is fine.

But yeah I'll hold my vote for now.

This is a great choice. He worked with Popovich then with Brad Stevens all the way to the finals.
His departure from Boston should make him take this assignment ultra seriously.

This is exactly where I'm at .... tho in the poll I voted yes because I'm not against the hire - I'd have preferred Atkinson.

He was the biggest name / hottest coach available this offseason & Tilman spent enough money to get him here. I'm Ok with the hire.
Gona be real interesting to watch these kids adjust from Silas wet noodle to Udoka being a hard case.

Low key ecstatic. Will bring in structure and a defensive mentality that this team has missed since Van Gundy to be honest

It should be celebrated based on the many media narratives put out how Houston is a toxic run amok dangerous org, the fact they landed one of the big 3 coaches on the open market and getting rid of who most wanted gone is a major win, everybody comes with some level of baggage, and it seems Tilman likes it that way, anybody who puts out a book is dealing with some form of baggage

All the other stuff you mentioned is a cross that bridge when/if we get there situation

If we were to get Wemby alone and ask him to choose which bottom feeder he would want to draft him, pretty sure Rockets would be in his top two choice

Agreed. Strong defensive minded coach. Seems like defensive coaches hold players accountable. Hopefully our “star” players will take off like Kawhi, Tatum and Brown did.

He stood up to Tatum and forced him to buy into team game plan after even Marcus Smart called Tatum out just before they went on that run that almost got them a ring. He brings structure and wining mentality
