I’m low key hoping Sam gets the job … he has to be a sentimental favorite for those of us who still cherish the back to back titles. :)

Yup. It's like the Texans hiring Ryans, except that Cassell was part of a champion. Nostalgia plus knowing what it takes to win. I'm totally down with it.

The way they're using Embid is down right criminal. Looks like Silas offense of 5 out but worse, now you have the best center disabled in the 3 point line.

Can we please still bring in Sam as an assistant to Udoka? Need more Rockets legends around. I hope Ime and ET consider it.

I don't see how he quit his assistant coach job with Philly and come here for another assistant coach job. Unless you overpay him. He's been under Doc for while.

Great idea!!! Sam needs experience under another coach, the #1 limiting factor in his search for a HC'ing position is that he's sticking with Doc Rivers. He has learned all he can from that guy and that's not enough. Cassell has done interviews and the league is clearly communicating that his assistant coaching experience needs to be better.

Come home or go to Pop, Kerr or Budenholzer. Do 1-2 years and raise that profile.

Maybe it’s time for him to realize that may be what’s holding him back.
