I understand that whomever President Biden appoints must be amazing to you. I will admit that I don't know this lady, and I think the PBM issue needs to be tackled.

My comment is more of a general comment that I find it unlikely that a 34 year old person normally has the experience to hold such an important position. There may be exceptions to the rule.

But when people get to "jump the queue" because they fit certain desired criteria, things like this can happen as well:

You do realize there's over 3000 positions filled by the executive branch? Yes there's some effon crazy ones. Did you forget that trumps cabinet member tried talking to him about sending the doj to voting centers ro seize their machines ? We all make bad choices. Live and k
    Learn

Also it's not just PBMs. It's big tech, big ag rigging the market, sugar market is rigged by foreign competitors. People like @DonnyMost talk out of their ass. People don't grasp how bad corporate consolidation is. Railroads, pipelines, meat, sugar, it's all a rigged market. All of it

If you truly care about problems we face here at home it all starts with anti trust. We have allowed corporate consolidation to occur for 50+ years in every sector that's destroying America society. The fact that you folks can't grasp the idea I'm biggest anti trust junkie in the world you understood my politics.

My business has grown alot since biden has came into office. There's more people on health insurance than ever. I'm making a killing right now.

I directionally agree with your sentiment on antitrust.

We are sitting here bickering between ourselves about culture war bullshit while corporate America fleeces us day in and day out.

    - the meat industry is owned by 4 major companies who screw ameeican farmers

-sugar industry is rigged for decades by 2 major players

    - chicken industry is rigged by a foreign cartel

-grocery store industry is ran by a local cartel who accepts bribes about what foods to allow to be sold.

-farming equipment is rigged by big ag as its not right to repair which costs folks millions

    - there's a handful of railroads that are controlling our entire infrastructure rigging the prices of employees

I can go on and on and on. I've been in this field for 2+ decades. People are brainwashed by media by overlooking the real problems we have in America.

For the first time in over 60+ years we have the ftc tackling real issues and folks @Nook think democrats have somehow gotten worst when they're finally got their heads out of their ass.

    @DonnyMost

-US life expectancy is largely stagnant over the last 10 years and falling behind our peers-

Im not sure if you're aware of this but right now in america if you have been unemployed or make under 28k a year you qualify for FREE FULLY subsidized insurance after biden expanded subsidies. Theres been over 7 million new enrollees in the past few years alone. My business alone which sells CPAPs has seen 1000-2000k new patients alone whom have never had health insurance before. Democrats just gave medicare the power to negotiate drug prices for the first time in the history of the program. They just slashed the cost of insulin for tens of millions of folks.

If you care about Life expectancy then the only party whos tackling the issue is the Democratic party. Whether you like it or not they ARE tackling the issue.

-Social cohesion and civic participation evaporating as polarization grows.

Maybe you're not aware of this but the John lewis voting acts removes ALL money from super pacs, removes gerrymandering, and limits spending on media by politicans. The solution to your "problem" is something the democrats have tried to pass but *EVERY* Republican voted against it.

Do you even know whats in the bill? Seriously ?

US income inequality is widening and the poverty rate is increasing.

You realize Democrats tried to introduce a billionaire tax while doubling the capital gains tax? They also tried to pass monthly child payments to poor families which cut poverty by 50% before manchin decided he was too greedy to extend the program right?

    https://www.brookings.edu/research/the-antipoverty-effects-of-the-expanded-child-tax-credit-across-states-where-were-the-historic-reductions-felt/#:~:text=INTRODUCTION,poverty fell immediately and substantially.

We already know how to solve income inequailty. Its by taxing investments and raising pay for ordinary workers while enforcing our anti trust laws.

again you're not getting the it. The reason why congress passes the bare minimum is because theres money involved in politics and lobbying have corrupted the procedure. Whos disagreeing with this? Why is krysten sinema receiving millions from hedge funds while shes negotiating a tax bill? When am I saying that we dont have issues that need to be address? The solution to those issues is by voting democrat so we expand the majority so we can change the laws that corrupt the system.

    https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/1

Why dont you actually read For the peoples act? Most of your concerns about polarization and money CAN be fixed by passing the bill.

Im not here to say @DonnyMost is a bad person or anything along those lines. I think people have gotten so sick and tired of the bullshit system we had in place for decades that they're mentally checked out of the scene. This is what the republican party wants people to feel as they feed off negativity and conspiracies. My issue is that under biden things are changing whether you want to admit or not. Biden isnt a neoliberal and he isnt governoring as such.

The issue i have with @DonnyMost is most of his issues that he addresses already have legislation thats pending in congress to tackle those exact issues. The issue is the republican party and the corrupt democrats we have in congress.

We all love this country and want it to prosper.

Speaking of Congress and the government...

Supreme Court trust and job approval hits historic lows:
    https://news.gallup.com/poll/402044/supreme-court-trust-job-approval-historical-lows.aspx

Congressional approval averaging under 20% over the last 5 years as re-election rates have hovered in the 90s:
    https://news.gallup.com/poll/1600/congress-public.aspx

Seems like a perfectly healthy democracy to me! Just keep voting for (insert Party here) and it'll all be fine. No need to change priorities at all :)

The republicans need to be completely purged from governing and then once the party that is actually trying has full support, you can work to remove the bad apples within it.

That is the path forward, not complaining about the system.

One thing to consider about Biden and Trump.....

Biden is 81 years old and has a life expectancy of 7 more years and has a 7% chance of dying in 2023.

Trump is 78 years old and has a life expectancy of less than 8 years and has a 7% chance of dying in 2023.

The Presidential election in November of 2024..... which has odds of 11% dying for Biden and 10% for Trump by 11/24.

There is a REAL chance (approximately 1:5) that one of them dies before the next election!

There is a better chance of one of them dying from old age than the Rockets getting the #1 pick....

Both parties have an ethical obligation to have well thought out plans if this happens......

Let's not even get into the odds that Biden or Trump will still be alive by 2028 when their term would be complete.... the odds are scary.

The VP choices are more important than ever - and there is a real chance of chaos in 2024.

    I think you are right.

It boggles my mind how otherwise smart and intelligent and kind people can fall for the rights bullshit. How much more evidence do you really need to see its a grift?

I think given Trump's comorbidities (weight... and uh... let's go with 'lifestyle') you can probably bump him up the actuarial table a notch or two.

But yeah, insane to think about. Also it might expose a very longstanding problem in our succession planning:
