So far this game is going great! Hope the Twolves can keep it up. Hope is a dangerous thing though for Minnesota teams..
the wolves didnt need to make that trade for gobert, they had a nice young playoff team last year that pushed the grizzlies a lil bit. They should have ran it back with there young core, now they have no assets
uh, nobody told the Wolves to go and ruin their entire future by trading for Gobert… So what are u talking about?
Exactly your reply to him. He spammed clutchfans for 2 years saying that acquiring high draft picks were a waste of time. Essentially talent is not that important. That the rockets should have signed whomever the last few seasons got picks in the teens coached/culture around those players is just as good.
Wolves make a few tweaks to what they had last year and I think they’d have been at least the 3 seed this season I feel really bad for that fanbase…their GM torpedoed everything with 1 move keep Kessler Edwards, upgrade from D-Lo, and add a wing defender or 2 and they would’ve been a problem…now they’re stuck
BSPN touting how amazing is is for Lebron to play 45+ minutes at his age... reminder... Charles Barkley played over 47 minutes in his final game against Phoenix in a Rockets uniform at 36.
Potential for having that same feeling by this time next year if they give a billion dollars to Harden. Tons of talent to be anchored down by a giant contract. At least it would only be through free agency though.
those aren’t close to the same thing tho Rockets actually desperately need an elite PG and playmaker, and all it would cost is cap space…not one time last year did I watch the Wolves and think what they need is Gobert, especially at the cost of all their remaining assets
That’s even more amazing when you consider Barkley already had the physique of a 46 year old at that point.
they might as well just sit Gobert’s goofy ass for the rest of the season…even if they make the postseason, he sucks and gets exposed then anyways 1 of the worst trades in history
Anthony Edwards is averaging 32, 4, and 5 on 48/41/86 shooting splits and 63% TS this series he averaged 25, 4, and 4 on 46/40/82 splits and 60% TS in his playoff debut at age 20 this makes the Gobert trade look even worse…Wolves have a young stud on their hands and actually had a future How are they gonna be able to build around him now? Wolves have a 121 defensive rating with Gobert on the court this series…it’s at 104 when he’s off defense is supposed to be his calling card…this is a multiple DPOY award winner
Rudy played some pretty good D last night. The wolves played like how Finch envisioned them with Goebert playing tough D and Edwards and KAT playing well. They still were lucky to win. The Goebert trade wasn’t a panacea but I don’t think it was the flat out disaster that many think it was. I would give it another season to see. The bigger issue is that KAT doesn’t seem to be able to live up to his promise. Edwards still has a lot of promise but needs to get more consistent. A more fundamental question is tht that this team just doesn’t have that culture of wining. It’s a Minnesota tradition to lose in the first round of the playoffs and the ceiling for this team appears to be just that. At best the Vikings of the NBA.
